I have no heart to tell them that their counterparts in neighboring countries are probably planning where to go tonight.
These same counterparts own freehold or expect to own freehold properties and drive their own cars rather than those leased from their governments. Singaporeans are paying for not standing up for their rights and not standing up against propaganda.
Those that are willing to work so hard like Singaporeans expect to retire by 35! That is why they work so hard. Singaporeans work so hard because they are a driven people. Driven because their money taken away by you know who... -

He made way too many general assumptions; no comparisons within a specific type of industry or comparisons within different country branches within the same MNC.
I think when you are talking about your friend, you are saying that she is being 'seconded', it's not the same as having 2 jobs. How would you know if you had 2 jobs within the same company? Easy...if you are paid for 2 jobs.
The employment industry term for a job means occupation/position. A person can have one job and several responsibilities within the same job, that is not to be confused with having several jobs within the same company, the meaning is different. And it is quite common place nowadays for workers in the private sector to be given added responsibilities which are not specifically stated in their contracts; there's a term in the contracts saying ''ad-hoc responsibilties as assigned by the employer'' or something similar to that. -

If you are prepared to accept the living conditions in Malaysia and Thailand, there is nothing to stop you from cashing out and live out your savings in these nations at 40.
