It sounds like English but only those living in Singapore can know the real meaning.
When you are paid "Peanuts" you expect $600K per year
"Peanut" salaries must be $600K per annum and above
The rest of the world considers "peanut" salary as equivalent to the cost of a bag of peanuts.
"Help" is take, like increase in GST is to "Help" the poor (take from the poor)
"Poor" can be rich, like increase in GST is to help the "poor" (help the rich by cutting Corporate tax)
Foreign = Local and Local = Foreign when it is convenient like:
Invite Foreign workers in so Locals have jobs (Invite foreign workers in so "Foreigners" have jobs)
This thread is open for contributions of other words with uniquely Singaporean meanings. -
"Talents" include people that sweep the road as in:
We need more Foreign Talents to sweep the roads with their talented broomsticks. -

National Sportsmen and women
In any other country that means the citizens the country invested in and helped to achieve sporting greatness.
In Singapore that means the foreigners the country invested in.
