Yes, it is my informed decision and I can sleep at night with it.Originally posted by Kenashi:nobody said that yr body ain't yrs.
it is yr decision that u have to live with.
i know about DNA, but even blood relative can have non-matching organ. furthermore, it is about matching blood type n acceptance by the body more than DNA.
the doctor will try to find those organs that has a chance of matching rather than to transplant one that is going to fail.
u talk as if u know everything, but don't assume everyone else is as ignorant as you.
it just a wonder whether those ppl can hang on till the future is here.

Hey, I mean, if they can be bothered to send me a note about renewing business licenses, topping up Medisave account, and paying other kind of Taxes, why not a note that they have presumed I consented to being opted in on HOTA???
No money involved for them to print me a note???

It is impossible to make such claims. Our gov is very good at 'proving' things, especially documentation. Also, everyone needs to pay attention to the postal mail box every month ending, when Bills, Taxes, and other Charges arrive. And they also have records with Singapore Post on whom they mailed douments to.Originally posted by Kenashi:even if they sent u a note, u can still say u didn't receive it.
That is why I say that Opt in policy requiring the consent and signature of the person is better. That way that person's family won't have the suspicion of his/her organs being stolen etc. Rather than a goddamn auto opt in .Originally posted by Kenashi:even if they sent u a note, u can still say u didn't receive it.
Too bad, country may be ours, but the rules aren't...Originally posted by dracky:I am annoyed that Muslims have to opt-in. We should have one set of rules "regardless of race, language or religion".
Seriouly,my whole family members have not received such a note to opt-out till to-date.Originally posted by ShutterBug:It is impossible to make such claims. As such, it is baseless for me to deny receiving their notice of any kind, and I stand to gain nothing by denying either.

Can anyone except Gods tell me whether they hve really received the same!!!
We will write to MOH to question them about this issue!!!!
Just because no one or any organisation bothered to launch a widescale campaign encouraging people to organ donate or enlighten/educate people on the benefits of organ donation - now there is a right to multilate the bodies of others who were not aware of such a policy just because the demand is too high? That's bullshit.Originally posted by Kenashi:that the donor card system.
but too bad it ain't working, too high in demand for organs n too few donors coming forward
ppl's bodies r just shutting down too fast before they get a transplant![]()
What gives anyone the bloody automatic rights to a dead person's body? I know besides the muslims , there are other people with other beliefs which might not agree with transplantation. Who gives anyone the right to violate their body just because they were not made aware of the opt out rule?Originally posted by Kenashi:cos of their religion mah.
i wonder whether they can accept an organ from a non-muslim??
kind of defeat the purpose, if they can, right?
Originally posted by fymk:the law, the constitution n the parliment give the right.

As much as I can empathise with those who have organ failure , it is much a right of the other person to agree to donate his body to a good cause with full knowledge and consent .
