From wat I know about the GST Credit, only two thirds of the money will be given out in cash. The remaining one third will go to medisave a/c.
And NSF/NSmen get extra S$100.
I should be allocated S$800. So 800+100=S$900
900 divided by 4 = S$225.
Out of 225, I'll get only cash payout of 150 while the remaining 75 go to medisave.
Cash:225, Medisave:75 each year for the next 4 years.

When I heard the budget I thought it was $1,000 every year for those making $24,000 or less per annum. That would really help the poor, but when I visited the budget website, it said $250 a year for 4 years. I must have ear wax stucked in both my ears, I actually thought they have changed their ways and moved on to the path of altruism
KNN, more like helping themselves than the poor.
If say the combined assessable income for husband and spouse is $24,000, after CPF 20% contribution, they would be left with $1,600. If both of them spend like $1,400 a month, a year they will spend $16,800.
$16,800 x 2% = $336 per annum
They give you $250 GST credits a year to offset the 2% GST increase, in the end you still have to end up paying the extra $86 a year for that extra 2% GST. It's only for 4 years, after that they will remove the GST credit like the previous time they implemented GST, thereafter no more subsidy.
$336 - $250 = $86
I wonder if there is a Workfare Income Supplement (WIS) scheme this year?
But looking at their budget, they set aside $530 million for GST credits, which only resulted in $250 for the poor, I am not too hopeful for the $200 million they set aside for WIS.
Looks like we have to wait till next election to get our next $1,000 progress package.

In my opinion, I think we deserve to be tax heavily, because the majority of Singaporeans are idiots, when people dangle carrot you are suckered into taking the carrot.
I hope next election they raise GST to 10%, then everybody can suffer more. You suffer for your stupidity.
Oops I meant, I hope next election they will raise the GST to 10% so that they can continue helping the poor more.
