The stupid junta govt want to forcibly buy back the satellities at a greatly discounted price.
Perhaps it is good to withdraw Sg investments in Thailand once and for all.
Other countries will follow suit.
This will bring another coup against these coup-installed govt. -

Seeking revenge is silly. But in view of the insecurity of the current military junta and its clear attempts to whip up nationalistic fervour by target Singapore, it is becoming clear that Thailand may not be a good place for investment for some time to come. Singapore would do well to move our investments to neighbouring Vietnam and even Burma.

If leaders are holding themselves so high as more capable leaders than other leaders in Asean etc who could sway the whole world with influence, like the way they conduct themselves to their own citizens with such mighty arrogance, self-confidence about their own eadership abilities and talents and not willing to be subjected to good corporate governance or accountability processes, then our foreign relation will also suffer big problems.
Being Leaders of a small country called the red dot by Habibie they must learn to conduct such foreign relation with a certain extra finesse which will win respect not only from their own people but from all other leaders and people.
They have been having past difficulties with leaders of other countries before and by now should have learned their lesson from the past.
For example, do not adopt the attitude that they are never wrong in their judgments or dealings with people or others like has been happening in dealing with the Souzhou local authority over its sale of local industrial lands. If our leaders have been more tactful and not resort to arrogant showdown and threats will we have sufferred so many setbacks.
In past dealing with Mahathir over the water issue - do our leaders always have to publicised how right they are ? Do they really understand foreign relations.
Our leaders must be more strategic in handling foreign relations taking into account our strengths and vulnerabilities and not just act more superior than the other countries in the neighbouring region.
If we keep trying to tell our neighbouring countries we are providing them with aids and we are better, we will not go down well with their people.
As advised to the government Feedback Unit previously, being small and vulnerable we must not conduct ourselves based on haughty arrogance that we are more advanced or superior.
We must conduct genuine people-to-people good relation with actions rather than a great deal of words and broadcasting about our taking over other people's national assets.
So it is time for our foreign ministry to really come up with a more strategic foreign relation master plan and implement it with practical sensibility.
No need to show or broadcast about how good is our leaders' abilities to the people. Just do your jobs as leaders with abilities from actions and results. -

It is just a business deal that turned sour.
Maybe the business people try to move the singapore model of monopolised management to another island.
So, they should learned their lesson and sell the disks at a discounted price and move on. -

Today paper just say thailand admit that they have to pay cash to get Shin SAT back..... so, long & short of story..... make noise later still have to pay. -
