Well, people who choose to ignore the options available end up looking like whingers to me. And bear in mind, i never said that all out censorship was a good thing, a little bit of censorship would be useful if executed fairly and properly, but in this context, i think it is used poorly, when clearly there are other ways to have his voice heard instead of posting in the website.
maybe you can enlighten us and tell us how we can all go about countering the censorship on the 'many avenues of internet?" 'OH GREAT ONE'??
I already gave some simple suggestions to robert, you can read my earlier posts. Believe me, it's not as difficult as it sounds, it's whether you have the initiative to do it or not. -

A forum is meant to be a two way discussion. You have a PRO, you have an Opposition. What kind of forum, what kind of discussion is this if you only choose to hear what you wish to hear? A cowards' place of gathering?
Exactly, i agree with that too, that's why i'm giving my point of view as to why censorship on robert is not that big of a deal. Censorship of the owner's website happens all the time, you can even get censored from a blog, which happened to me too, no big deal.
I am merely using your very words against you, for what you said can be supportive of your arguments, as well as against the very basis of your arguments...
I think the young pap is busy running away from critics and concentrating on hoodwinking the other 66%... so what they do? They choose the easiest way out. Ban the source...
like i said, young pap got better things to do than to waste their time on empty vessels, who can blame them? I'm not pro pap either, to them we are only noisy mosquitos. If you really want to be heard, then you have to do something more drastic to get their attention, going to their website and getting 'slapped' is just futile and a waste of time.

It's kind of interesting. If I have any comments on a Honda Car, the only way to make my voice be heard is on a Honda website am I not wrong?
Of course they can choose to ban anyone they want, but to do it without any rhyme or reason would just draw the ire of the internet community. This course of action also further strengthens the general public's belief that the PAP only seeks to silence their opposition. -

That's the way the internet works, i'm afraid. if people were fair in their censorship then there wouldn't be so many people frustrated with censorship. i'm not being unreasonable, i'm just being realistic. Everyone knows how pap deals with censorship, it's not new news, but with the internet, there's a whole lot of possibilities compared to time before internet. Those days people relied on the controlled media to get the news, but with the internet, more options are available to us. All i'm saying is, use it wisely to our advantage. -

I think something wrong with the website bah... I try to see the forum there and u know wat, I get the same message saying I am banned... and I never went there in my life before. Anybody faces the same problem ? Or I need to perform something before I can read the posts....

Now then you realised...
Someone from page 2 of the thread have already informed that the problem lies on the website, and not on the banning. Amazingly the people who felt emotional about the banning never went to the young pap website to access the situation.
If the problem really lies on the website, then it is time for people to reflect whether they have been overly biased and whether do they own an apology for the mistake -

On 21.2.2007, I email the youngpap to ask whether I was banned from its website for any of the following 3 reasons:-
(1) My postings contain vulgarities, or lies
(2) I am an undesirable or anti-government
(3) They are afraid of the truths I posted.
I am glad this morning, the ban was lifted as I could now access the site.
I now hope that if it is an administrative error, the matter would be forgiven.
If it is not, I do hope that they will do something about the "20 Major Government Policy Errors" and the HDB/GLCs' profiteering schemes would be abandoned to create a more competitive globalized economy and more jobs and put a check on our past many years of ever-rising costs of living.
