Should government treat Singapore like a country or MNC? If it is treated like MNC, do people still think paying tax is justified? Do people still think serving national service justifiable?

Indeed why should citizens pay taxes if a government is no longer functioning like government - collecting taxes to perform services. I do not mind either way, but they cannot have it both ways.
If Singapore is run like a company, then its "management" should jolly well be held accountable like a company for its successes and failures. Reasonable? -

If this is the case the Lees can simply claim that Temasek deal is purely Commercial deal because they are treating the money not belonging to the people. This is showing us that the reserve has nothing to do with tax payers. -

It is so sad people could be bought with monies or goodies to forego their rights which resulted in walk-overs and perpetrators claiming themselves to have been voted by the 66.6% due to such vote buying walk-overs and GRCs. -

Please don't feel sorry, we are all adult here..... at least most of us
.... we are having a debate, not out to kill each other... no discontented feelings felt...
Face it, the few hurndred dollars may means nothing to you and me...... but are you Sooooo sure that the lower income, poorer S'porean will not want the money. If this workfare thingy works, and give a better life to the less well off, why not
For so many years, govt policy have always been to depend on yourself..... now at long last, there is some sort of wellfare for the poor..... we might not like it, but please give it a chance to be tried out.... Other countries that give wellfare also have income tax rate of 20-40% per person..... many have GST too.... as high as 10%. So, now we have little wellfare, with little income tax + mid size GST. If the GST rise again (I believe confirm will go up to at least 10%) I would expect the wellfare to rise too...... If not, life goes on.....
