want to put even more strain on lower middle income families ??![]()
If you won't opt in, don't complain that you cannot afford to pay the hospital bills. If you already have a private medical insurance, you don't need Medishield and you can opt out. But if you do not have any medical insurance at all, without Medischield you are jumping off without a parachute.Originally posted by the Bear:these opt-out schemes remind me so much of our laws.. a lot of them have a presumption of guilt where you have to prove your innocence instead...
There are plenty of specialists willling to see you immediately in private hospitals and clinics. If we want more specialists in the public sector, we have to be prepared to pay them more or engage cheaper specialists from India.Originally posted by the Bear:btw, one month wait to see a specialist for non-urgent cases?
what planet is he on?
in severe pain from a slipped disc, and i had to wait 3 1/2 months before i checked myself in to the A&E
and there, the A&E doctor, screaming into the phone, could only get the specialist to see me about 9 days later...
