I would think that he is definitely more capable than Ho Ching due to his track records and feedback from Singtel employees. But then, those anti PAP will question why do we need all the LEEs running our country.Originally posted by sunny6110:LHY??

then why he wants to step down from singtel ceo position?Originally posted by sunny6110:LHY??
I don't agree that Singaporean can do nothing about it. Are you not doing things here right now?Originally posted by fymk:Wait ....OM did you knock your head on something and received some enlightment? Even I cannot be bothered about Ho Ching - she would never step down because of the family and there is nothing Singaporeans can do about it.
Lee Hsien Yang was clever - No doubt he knew that overpaying 10 BILLION dollars for optus was a very bad thing (yes the aussies are laughing at it all the way to the bank) and he offered to step down before people found out.

Did you just lose your job from the PAP propaganda machinery?
I wish to express my heartfelt sorrow.

I thought the aussies were protesting against the sale of Optus to Singtel because of the latter is linked to Singapore government.

Hey OM, this is one side of you I have never seen!Originally posted by oxford mushroom:It was never a good idea for Ho Ching to head Temasek. She will never be able to do a good job, no matter how good she may be. If she did something well, people will say it's her husband who blows her trumpet. If she does badly, people will say her husband hides her faults.
In contrast, Lee Hsien Yang is smart to step down whilst the going is good. He leaves at a time when Singtel has made lots of profits and he has plenty of bonus in his bank account. Ho Ching has left it too late but rather late than never.
However the Shin Corp issue will pan out, Temasek is likely to lose money and even her husband has said that if Temasek loses money over Shin Corp, they will have to be held to account. Having her husband, being Minister of Finance, as effectively the regulator of Temasek is a bad idea from the start. Whatever fault is attributed to Temasek eventually, LHL cannot escape responsibility as the regulator. The question will be raised as to why the Minister for Finance had been sleeping on the watch. He can hardly distance himself from the CEO, as he could if someone else held that position. The fact that his wife is head of Temasek will no doubt cast suspicion on his independence whilst carrying out his duties, even if he is beyond reproach.
Justice has to be done and seen to be done. In view of Ho Ching's relationship to LHL, any mistake she makes will have an adverse impact on her husband, the ruling party and the entire government. In other words, she is becoming a liability for the government. Get rid of her before it is too late.
Don't pray pray with him... he must be quite powderful to get permission to say such things...Originally posted by ShutterBug:Hey OM, this is one side of you I have never seen!

The best armour is to keep out of range......heheOriginally posted by oxford mushroom:Haha..just shows how feebleminded you lot are! You have no mind of your own, no spine of your own, no balls of your own. Unlike you, I dare to speak my mind, whether I agree or disagree with the ruling party. It is better to let a FT take the position if we can find one that has a good track record running an investment company.Originally posted by sunny6110:coz I dun feel gd letting a FT run the show....
and the person has to be trustworthy and absolutely be loyal to sg....
how loyal is other singaporeans outside the family to singapore??
Noble? haha...I wouldn't accept that accolade, but I belive I am more honest than the rabid anti-PAP mob who haven't got the grace or guts to recognize a single good government policy.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:anyway you are dead... and you are now trying to sound noble. Sure, you are noble just like all the opposition members and the dissidents are noble.
I am just pointing out that you are dead to in the party and the government and the GLCs... unless of course... you are so high up in the party and you had wind that she was going to step down anyway...in that case you are just a big time hypocrite.
