nursing is a job that requires alot of patience , love , courage ..... it is equally as impt as docs ...... n not all gals haf wat it takes to be a nurse ....... not every gal wan do a job tat require her to clean other ppl's poo ..... feeding elderly patients ... giving ppl jabs ..... dress the wounds etc etc ..... n the work hours r damn long .... *salute * to the angels in white

His reasons are not valid. And he really thinks, everyone can be nurses...
Nurses are groomed and nurtured to the brim. So that they can give dedicated service to the patients..
Not anyhow take all the entire girls population and throw them in a medical crash course... -
Dude ah, use your brain to think can, even for guys, not everyone can be a medic, let alone not freak out when attending to soldiers in a real war enviroment (i.e. casulties coming in with no legs, no arms, intestines all spill out, etc ,etc).
If even a guy cannot stomach this, you think the female can ah? you think the female population all can tahan see pool of blood spilling out of a dying soldier and not faint ah.
By point is, not every guy is suitable to be medics, similarly, not every woman can be a nurse.
However, I do see the possibilities of the female population doing NS in the armed forces or CDF or SPF in the near future if our birth rate keeps dwindling. -
yes, nurses really needs lotsa of patience, love and more.. You guys will never no how nurses have to work in the wards.. What your see if your are in there is in total different.. Feedin patients are not as easy as what you think.. Clearing people's poos and urine is not a nice thing to day everyday, twice a wk you dont have to due to off day.. yes, salute to all nurse.. we, nurses are really doing service to the nation arent we?? we heal and care sick people.. I'm nurse myself.. so pls, guys mind you words.. Medical school teaches as how to work in teams as well, we got to work with patients, doctor, and own collegues.. Well, it's not a TOTALLY flawed idea, it's just way too limited... almost ANY form of NS would be good for the ladies... not as in it has to be related to nursing, but just has anything to do relating to making sure that the individual is more then prepared to serve a vital part in times of crisis instead of just being a hapless civillian.
It does not have to be a 2-year thing or anything, but such a system that each lady knows her role in times of conflict... nursing... civil defence... logistics... rescue and what have you not. -

Most discussions about NS for females ultimately trace back to the feelings of indignation by male Singaporeans who have to go through NS. -
I have to agree with what SingaporeTyrannosaur said. Any form of National Service would be useful not only to females, but males as well. Have to say some males are not suitable to be in the war front, be it as medic or soldier. Of course have seen some males who love to be soldiers to fight as well. I see nothing wrong with males being trained to be nurses. However, back to a question I would like to ask. Does National Service in Singapore mean to serve the Defence Force only or it just happens that the Defence Force needs National Service? However if it does only mean the first part of the question, then all my above points are invalid.

so i dont see the problem with females learning first aid. they dun need the caring heart or whatever, they just need the knowledge to give an injurt person some medical help. after all, appling 1st aid b4 the ambulance arrives might just save the person... that said, guys gotta learn first aid too... -
I believe girls can Serve NS in a different CMPB way, for example, care for the Special , aged homes , national service means , Compulsory time spent for the Good of the Nation.
Be sure to include Reservist for them and a minimum physical fitness criteria as we see more Fat and Carrot legged girls around.
