They would tell you thatOriginally posted by blueheeler:Our Minsiters always say they 'work for the people'. Since they so concerned about us, the Minsiters must be aware of how 99.9% of us go through our daily lives. Which of the following do you think our Ministers know:
1. The price of a loaf of bread, or 5kg of rice, or a tube of toothpaste?
2. How long the queue is at the polyclinic, bank, post office?
3. How much ERP is, since their drivers drive them around?
4. The cost of electricity, gas and water?
5. The cost of seeing the neighbourhood doctor?
6. The price for a cup of kopi-c at the kopitiam?
7. Cost of haircut at the Malay barber?
8. How long it takes to drive from Woodlands to City Hall using the CTE at 830am on a Monday morning?
9. The fare from Jurong East MRT to the airport?
10. The price of one fresh chicken from the wet market?
blahblahblahblahblah
I got a feeling that most Ministers don't do or buy any of the above on their own. If they are out-of-touch with our daily lives, how can they say that they 'know' what we go through? How can they 'plan' anything for us to use/benefit, if they themselves have no 1st-hand idea of the consequences?
Please don't remind me that our Minsiters actually do visit wet markets and MRTs and hospitals and schools. Yes they do visit these places, but their arrivals are preceded by 10s of security/grassroot//media to ensure that the Ministers' have a 'smooth-sailing' experience. 'Staged' and 'managed' experiences at these places do not make our Ministers one of us heartlanders.
I need Ministers I can empathise with; not the other way round.
x10 nice one.Originally posted by Medicated Oil:Please be informed that the Poodles:
- Do not own a Ezlink card; so cannot take bus or MRT
- Cannot take a taxi; may be box by the taxi driver for making the cost of life extremely HIGH
- Cannot go wet market; cannot be filmed or seen by the public in scrubbing the hands clean for fear of germs
- Cannot drive their own car; they may commit traffic offences that their fellow poodles have created
- Do not own a Cash card; that is why cannot drive on their own.
- Do not owe a ATM card; imagine seeing your MP queueing up for money in front of a ATM machine with you
- Do not eat bread; as it is too cheap compared to bird nest and abalone
- Do not shop for goceries in Carrefour; their fridge is powered by Doremon, never empty
- Do not use the public toilet; they do not have any loose change or they dunno what 10 cent look like.
Therefore, the poodle that you have requested cannot exist and will not exist.

No. They will say this and that WITHOUT answering your question. Or maybe, they will ask their lackey to feed them the answer, which is outdated, then answer the question wrongly.Originally posted by kilua:They would tell you that
1.You are the luckiest in southeast asia, what more can you ask for? Do the Indonesians ministers even care? Already receive GST offset still dare to complain.
2. Ask so many question... if no LKY Singapore would still be a third world country, you where got chance to complain about prices... you would be working as a maid or laborer.. you should be grateful instead of complaining..
3.If you are really unhappy, please leave this country... Singapore is a better place than many countries... you still dare to complain...
and other critics suppressing answers.... no point asking question lah...
It would remove the "tinted sunglasses" they are wearing, by getting each and every one of the MPs to live in a 4 room HDB apartment in 12 selected heartland estates through the 12 months of a year; getting them to go to work from each of the heartland estates by Public Transport for 2 weeks, and then driving from each of the 12 heartland estates for the next 2 weeks, eating and shopping at heartland estates shops and supermarts as well as using other amenities, and paying all monthly utility bills and commuting costs on their own.Originally posted by blueheeler:Our Minsiters always say they 'work for the people'.
