Perhaps when the older generation dies out, there will be a political revival. I find that most of the older generation have this "brand loyalty" mentality, they tend to hinge on the past successes of the PAP government, not looking at the present or future. They also have this fear mentality for the old man, because of the harsh ways in which the old man deals with his adversaries.Originally posted by LinYu:and only the citizen of Singapore can do it. sigh.....when will the sleeping lions wake up?![]()

Sad to say that although he has done a lot for us and the country, over the recent decades, he has gradually lost favor and faith of the people, both young and old.

We can but hope that there will be some honourable people among existing scholar MPs who will go for such political renewal.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:When they still control the mass media... "political awakening" is but a dream.
The only hope is for someone in the party honorable enough to stop the emperor for the sake of the common man.
They would be as good as asking them to commit SUICIDE. That is the problem with P*P... anyone trying to do the right thing and it threatens their "diamond rice bowl" gets "kan tiao".Originally posted by robertteh:We can but hope that there will be some honourable people among existing scholar MPs who will go for such political renewal.
The citizens could watch out for such people and rise up to support them.
For example certain MPs were dropped from last election because of their own independent views. Who are these MPs. We could invite them to post here or give seminars.
