No doubt I shared with you that Singapore may not have a wide consumers' market base nor a low labour cost unlike the rising nations such as China or India. The Asean concept may better serve to forge a common market or attracts investors into the region. If you are considering expanding oversea, they are a myriad of factors you may need to consider and not just the market alone. Things include political stability, quality of workers, technologies, cultures and most importantly, whether your products are what Asian wants.
In my opinion, the formation of the Asean market served to place Singapore as the regional center hub. Singapore can served as a transit point not only for her Asean market but also for investors or company to quickly gain access to the global market through our world class infrastruture and transport system.
