The Indonesian earthquake occured in a town called Padang. It's the nearest big Indon town to sinagpore ( only 430 km away).

Aiya, not fair lah, government made those policies, not the citizens. Why take it out on the citizens. If the Singapore government made some stupid policies which affected some other country. Do you think it's fair that retribution befall us instead of the government?

I dont know how Mandate of Heaven is related to the current earthquake, but it is still got something to do with religion.
Anyone who knows the history will know this system replaces the old way of worshipping Shang Di during Shang Dynasty, when the Zhou King desposed the last King of Shang

The reason of this "philosophy" is introduced by the Zhou Dynasty people is to justify their invasion and their destruction of the Shang Dynasty. The bugger by the name of Dong Zhong Shu, insisted that all natural disaster is due to punishment of heaven to a poor government.
