All the credit does not belong to him alone.
There were alot of other abled Ministers and MPs during that era.
What makes you think that our lives would me much more different without him? What if we had continued with our colonial existence like Hong Kong? We might end up with alot of home grown industries like Hong Kong, unlike now, we have to rely on foreigners investing in our country. -

Maybe next time when he kicks the bucket, we can put a tablet in honour of him in parliament, we burn joss stick and paper for him. When we have issues that we can't decide on, we will throw 2 red wooden blocks (after burning joss stick) on the ground to see if agrees or disagrees with the policy. I pity those people who worked during the 70s and 80s, where the tax rate was high.
