Marriage not equal to having babies
People can marry all they want but there are so many other factors that come into play when people decide whether to have babies.
Only losers think no NS then they will have more chance for marriage.....siao as if the decision to marry or not depends on got NS or not,you must be out of your mind. -

Singapore do not need more babies
What Singapore needs is to stop their own local talents from leaving the country due to better prospects overseas. -
Our parents' time, no need to study so much, after poly/ITE can work & start family. Also have in laws/grandparents living together, help bring up kids.
Nowadays people all study for degree, still have to pay off study loan. Starting salary low, cost of living so high, have to wait many years to earn enough for downpayment of expensive HDB - no wonder all marrying later- in their 30s. Most will have 1 or 2 kids or none at all.
Kids cost $$$, time consuming, career affected.
Spend so much money & time on uni. education, most women won't want to give up career for kids. By then, parents/grandparents too old to help.
That's the reasons why we have low birth rates -
thanks to the government's policy that views a house as a luxury and not a necessity and them charging explicit prices to force people to be rooted here, they only have themselves to blame for a population crisis
