Lots of local talents are left uptapped. All the poly graduates are more than capable to enrol and meet the requirements of many overseas universities.
Spore education has too many elimination stages. And it starts way too early at the tender age of 10. Such a system is detrimental to psychological well-being of our students. It is not humane and demeaning to segragrate a kid from the rest at an developmental stage.
To deny our student a chance to fulfill his or her dreams whilst open the door to FT, is not the way to go!
I think SIngapore's own Universities like NUS and NTU wanna be the TOP in the world mah. So they only accept the best student locally and international. While other countries university provides the opportunities for every citizens to study a course which they like.
IF NUS and NTU starts of lower down their recruitment standards, our Universities will be very far from the top ones.
