I do not believe they have really raised $6.5million.
The NKF story is still fresh on all sinkaporean's mind... So it is very unlikely that Singaporeans are willing do donate no matter what kind of dangerous stun they do.
Only two possibilities:
1)the digits shown up there is faked. I myself personally is a programmer, i can easily faked the jumping digits up there. Those who study engineering or Electronics and do this very simply.
2)Only those gullible FTs go and donate...
Everyone still remembered that TT Durai TT-ed your money to Dubai, after crying mother father in front of your TV screen, making you foolishly donate.
Sad-looking faces of all the actors/actress right behind the host
First thing i want to ask u guys:
WHY ARE ALL THE ACTORS/ACTRESS STANDING BEHIND THE HOST? instead of resting at the backstage...?
Most probable answer: They should be asked by the director to stand behind the host.
Second Question:
These actors/actress showed a sulky SAD face at the background, behind the host.
One thing to remember is: When an actor cries, u will never know he is crying for real or not? When an actor laughs, u'll never know if he is really happy.
Camera showing audiences picking up handphone to call
When the host strongly urged everyone to make a phone call, the VERY NEXT MOMENT, the cameras was tuned to several audiences making a phonecall on their handphone.
I personnally have attended numerous seminars, public talks, speeches, etc etc... As everyone knows, Singaporeans are usually shy audiences. When asked about a question like "How many of u have invested in XYZ Stocks market before?" Very few people raised their hands although i am confident that there must be a lot more people...
Here in Renci charity, the very next moment spontaneously, BOTH THE CAMERAMAN SHOOTING AT THE AUDIENCE, and the SPONTANEOUS AUDIENCE HIMSELF was dialing, isn't it too obvious that the whole show was pre-planned?
Gurmit using force tactic to demand phonecalls
Gurmit Singh was like scolding and demanding, like an extortion manner, and he says that "I WANT ALL OF YOU TO PICK UP YOUR PHONE AND CALL AS MANY TIMES AS U CAN.....". Isn't this too image spoiling?
There is a possibility that the safety rope helped pull the monk up, rather than the monk using his own strength to pull up...
Well, for this, i may be right, may be wrong, i do not have evidences.

1)Monks dun live in condo, drive BMW, monks only live in temple...
2)THe NKF story is still fresh in everyone's mind, it is not possible that Singaporeans still foolishly donate, unless i m wrong, Singaporeans are still sillyporeans, even after fooled for 40years since independence... -
Maybe a generous donor wrote a cheque for $6 million? U never know. Technically they wouldn't be lying, just stretching the facts & playing with that $$ counter

if u dont feel like donating .. u can always shut down the TV or change to other channel .. dont need to give bad remark .. dontation is by heart .. whether u r waching or not watching that show .. if u gt the heart u will dontate ..
when u r old , sick and need help .. please dont move into Renchi hospital to take up space .. -

yes..there is a possibility for that..but something that isnt pseudo
monks do not tell lie or decieve ppl as it is against their own set of rules and I tell you..even though what you have said is absolutely real..you cannot deny that the monk's actions has touched your heart and the people..he was so exhausted and he still continues until he cannot take it

Anyway, audiences aren't part of the show, it's not pre-planned. There are also quite a few cameras around, not just one, mind you. Each of the camera man will follow instructions from the higher ups, (that's the reason for having headphones, instructions delivered via there) to shoot a particular area of audiences. Now you know why seats are labelled. -

But i do have a heart. I do charity work and i do donate $$$ to them.
I donate money to the patients in the form of red packet too.
in this manner, i ensure that the whole of my red packet solely benefit the patients... I do not want part of my $5 donation to go to paying Sinktel, paying the artiste of these performance, paying the CEO monk his petrol to top up his BMW, etc etc.... i want the total (as far as possible) of my donation to benefit the patients fully.
What is charity? Charity is doing something that u dun expect any reward. Why not lets ask the artiste to perform these stun acts FOR FREE? u think they will?
In short, the more u beg me, the more u do dangerous stuns, the more i will not donate. haha, thats my personal...
To be frank, if the monk TRULY gives up all his $15,000/mth salary, gives up his BMW n take public transport, gives up his condo and donate them to the hospital funds, I WILL BE TOUCHED N DONATE MUCH MUCH A LOT MORE.... no need to do stun acts one, or cry here cry there lure people with weak emotions.
If he can risk his lives to do donations, why not degrade his own luxurios BMW CEO lifestyle n use the surplus to help more patients???

I dunno whether did the director arranged or asked these audiences to pretend to dial... it is so coincidence n amazing! -
Most likely they are faking, because the camera is facing them.
If I don't remember wrongly, that area is where most of the VIPs are. If you aren't calling, it will be very embarrassing.
The moment the camera goes away, the phone goes down. Haha -

Behind the scenes, got lots of camera screens. Only one will be LIVE on air. So its up to the producers sitting in front of the screens to air which camera.
So obviously he/she saw the audience calling and thus aired the camera nearest to the audience....

Why the monk needs a salary of S$15k in a month!!!!Drink ,woman, gamble or just 4 greed? he earns no respect from us who just cant live in this type of lifestyle if he is a real monk!!!!I suspect he is the same type as Durai!!

it was stated here http://newpaper.asia1.com.sg/printfriendly/0,4139,99432,00.html that the 15k salary was for Dr Ong Seh Hong, Ren Ci's chief operating officer and clinical director.
guys, pls provide at least some evidences before going on to comment negatively abt others. -
Some of you here had made very serious allegations... Unless you have concrete proof, i think it is relatively pointless, immature and foolish to make such remarks... We can talk about the show but commenting on other people's integrity and moral is not really advisable.

Apart from being pervetedly cynically with your sweeping remarks, have you really performed charity? That being said, do you know what it means to work for free?
Do you expect people, given the current atmosphere, to work entirely for free? These people still need to pay bills, pay taxes and feed mouths while tending to the patients at Ren Ci. Evidently, being an armchair critic, you are certainly entitled to your opinions, but like most people, if you don't agree with it, turn off your TV.
No one here is obliged to donate, least of all you. -
