I think better not say so much if no concrete proof. some people started something then all join in and it will end up like real.
I am no fan of this guy and i am totally against monks with luxurious items which makes me look down on these fake monksor conman. But i think we need more proof to what has been said about him.
I remember there was an article he said he used to draw 14k salary but then later part no more, but he did not comment on what are the other allowance and benefits he is taking, anyone can find this article?
Car wise he said to be driving BMW, Mercs and Volvo. Volvo was sold for 100k after 10 months of driving with low mileage. Colour of Mercs is grey and car plate is EZ232? anyone can confirm with pictures?
He was said to be staying in a luxurious condo facing the sea, anyone able to tell which condo is that? which floor he staying and who owns the condo?
Taking SIA business class only and shopping in Taipei 101 with chiohunk bf also have been said quite alot of times, anyone able to snap a pictures?
How about his lifestyle? is it luxurious also? things like an expensive watch + a vertu handphone, 24hr air con turn on for him.
We need more facts about this monk. -

Anyway, there is a monk at Tanjong Pagar temple has 2 merz and eat in a high class veg rest daily who really pissed me off.
But anyway,there r so many this type of dishonest ppls, who like to make use of others,what 2 do? as evident in NKF case. -
I got some question to ask:
1. Do you think the artiste get salary? I dun believe they do it for free.
2. But i can believe tat, those artiste expression is fake. As they think tat, by showing this kind of face, more calls will cum in. But it is ridiculous lor... Now the economic is so bad still ask ppl to call.
3. How you feel about the gurmit singh? I feel he is too harsh for his tone of talking. He sounds like reprimanding ppl like tis leh. Abit too harsh. Dun u think so?
4. The monk also shouldn't take up the challenge in the first place. As, he is quite old and the strength is not enough but yet he give himself 10 mins to finish it is it? It is ridiculous for mediacorp to give him this challenge. -
I don't think charity is just restricted to this show... even without the show, would you give to worthy causes?
If not then I think we don't really have the right to comment much about the reality (or lack of) in the show... because while we are trying to say that these charities are fake, we ourselves have no charity on our part.
On the other hand, why don't we take our cynicism to it's logical conclusion and do away entirely with charity in our soceity? Have this amount set aside to help the poor, no more, no less. Those who die then just too bad lor, at least this was we won't have to question what is real and what is not. -
i read once the monk i think is from rjc. smart chap but found his calling in this area.
realistically in the sgp context, it's hard to find high profile guys/gals working for free. they all work for something. as he leads renci hospital, there must be a fair bit of leadership, strategizing and admin work tt he does. whether $10k or $15k, the board decides. if it is all above board and pass the ethics test, why grumble... -

papers reported they collected 6.49 mill this year and 6.8 mill last year.
1.5 mill of the collection this year will go to the building of a new hospital.
that leaves 5 million.
what about the 6.8 million they collected last year and the dont-know-how-much the year before?

Also, i have to ask you whether you think the local artists, mayday and other overseas artists/singers are performing FOC? What abt the expenditure of the latter group? Furthermore, how abt the cost of the show itself, setup and etc? FOC? Certainly not. Mediacorp giving free commerical time to renci? I seriously doubt they will.
I certainly has no answer for all the above, but i believe the show cost quite alot to produce.

Looking at it w/o any accounting knowledge, i would say they are having quite alot of excesses in the past few years. I would be glad if someone can enlighten me on that? I see *stars* looking at the balance sheet....

You must be the never been to hospital kind, do you know that if someone gets warded in hospitial for 1 day is already about $60 per day, cus plus meals, plus nurse to check you, plus bed, etc, etc. 60x360= $21,600 already you know?
Then how about all the complicated medical equipment needed to sustain at least half the population in the hospital? like life-sustaining equipment? Those at least 1-2k per day you know?
Plus how about the sustaining of the hospital? you dun need to pay the nurses, doctors, surgeons? you dun need to pay surgeons for operations? If just 100 cases of operations in a year, 1 op = 4k, then 4kx100 = 400k already you know?
Plus the outpatient patients leh? some of them also from poor families and will be subsidized wat....
Please stop being wearing a "coloured" spec to see people.

let's cut these people some slack ya.....nkf is a totally different matter...the $14k pay i did read about it, they claimed it's a lay director that's receiving the amount, not the rjc monk, but still a tad excessive in my opinion...as for the car, i got no idea...
before we rub in by saying why so much surplus and why cost per patient is so high, let's take a humble approach and appreciate that fact that someone is actually taking care of the homeless and terminally ill.....dying in sg is very costly and so it comes to no surprise at the medical expenses....as for millions of surplus, they run out fast when you got salaries and buildings to maintain...until we smell something fishy, let's consider the intention to be noble....by the way, i didn't call because i have no desire to allow singtel and mediacorp channel part of the funds....
