You left out the juicy bad decisions.Originally posted by Lim Beh Ka Li Kong:When I was 7, I wanted to be the President, the Prime Minister...

Now that I'm older and wiser, I want to be anything but the President, the Prime Minister...
... coz I know tt some armchair critics out there would be criticising me even when I had done a good job, most of the time, at least...
pulled the nation out of 1997 Asia Financial Crisis... Created jobs... brought in fresh investments tt wld have headed towards HK and China...
Everyone keeps harping on how the 2% increase in GST is hurting their pocket, and how the 2% reduction in company tax is 'benefiting' only the rich... But really, do this same grp of pple think tt we can continue to keep their jobs if companies and investments head elswhere?
They may have to pay $3 more for their iPODs now with GST increase...
but if the companies had left us, the real worry would then be if they can continue to put bread on the family table...
His purpose of making you all work 5 days week is to ensure you all faithfully 'servants' go forth, procreate and produce another generation loyal servants.Originally posted by Gordonator:the only good thing that lee junior had done for us is made majority of singapore work 5 days every week. other than that nothing else.![]()
LOL,u give him the name "Ah Loong",why never i think of that.Originally posted by rane:hi, drawer, me not surprised at all!! A monk once predicted this - that when Ah Loong takes over, it will be difficult for Singaporeans. To me, he is a money sucker.![]()
Seems that he never fails to find any opportunity to earn $$$ out of the nation. he gives a little $ to the nation but he takes a lot from the nation. Don't think he is genuinely sincere to serve the nation. He ssuccks!
He is more self and money driven than anything. From the way he carries himself and the way he talks he thinks he is doing great! Yucks . . . yee . . . . . !!![]()

Whether he is doing great or not it is not up to him to feel it and decide, it is up to us the nation!!! don't "play play" with the nation hor!

Then u might as well give me tons of money n let me replace Ah Loong n take up this so-called "crap job"Originally posted by blueheeler:being PM of S'pore is a thankless job, isn't it? the PM, whoever he/she is, can never do anything right in the eyes of most of the people. maybe that's why they need to pay them tons of money to make them take this crap job.
we witness the birth of a new nickname..Originally posted by drawer:LOL,u give him the name "Ah Loong",why never i think of that.He is like those bad guys who go n lock n paint ppl(those who indebt) doors n threathen to kill those who doesnt pay them money.

Let's talk about his time in the armyOriginally posted by rane:can't imagine the future of Singapore. I have more trust and confidence in Mr Goh Chok Tong when he was the PM. eh, 66.6% is big deal to him. he said 66.6% a strong mandate for him. ha ha ha, my toes are laughing, too!
Just find him very ordinary - there is nothing unique and outstanding about his way of managing whatever. He is just one lucky chap because his dad is LKY!! unfortunately, he is not as brilliant as his papa! When thinking about contribution to singapore, most will think of the papa not him.
He's just a rich man's son... he never had to work his way up in anything...!Originally posted by soul_rage:Let's talk about his time in the army
I have heard about him leading his troops during a full-troop exercise into a mine-field (he lost his way), resulting in his entire troop (+ him) getting 'killed'.
I also heard that during another exercise when he was a general, he kept losing and losing every front until the other general pretend to lose so that he can save face.
I don't know what's so great about him. He is so fake, and is totally disconnected from the ordinary citizen.
I can tell u if u watch beyond the dot showing talented Sporean going to other countries to develop their talent, contributing to the adopted countries.Originally posted by Rock^Star:Singapore is run like a corporation. Profit is what matters. If there are any factors which may cause the decline of the country, the govt will take all steps to justify its means.
Foreign talents are coming in faster than a tap can dispense water and simultaneoulsy, large handful of S'poreans are being retrenched on the quiet.
If you're this govt, what would you do?
1) Not take in so much foreign talent, give more jobs to locals and have less revenue in the coffers?
OR
2) Take in as many FTs as you can and ensure that S'pore stays at the cutting edge of this global competition?
An organisation's culture depends on the CEO's style. Take for example, Air Asia has such a vibrant and agressive culture because Tony Fernandez is a daring visionary. Singapore's style of governance is largely determined by the Lees, something which has already been deeply ingrained since our independence.
