For the sake of the future of Singapore, it may be wise to outsource all the ministerial jobs at a fraction of a single minister's pay. We can try to get the top brains from all over the world and train them to put Singapore before self because Singapore may be a paradise to them.
The ministers' pay and its impending increases have caused a lot of disunity among Singaporeans and any time we will lose a war to our neighbours if they know how to exploit the weak situation within the country!They know Singaporeans are fighting only for $$$$$$$ and nothing else in their lives!!!!!Most Singaporeans have put $$$$$$ before self and not nation before self, so the subsequent weakness will disintegrate the little red dot into obscurity.
Should we go back to history to find out how the Roman Empire collapsed? -
if we cannot train the Singaporean ministers to put nation before their own financial gains, what makes you think we can train foreigners to put Singapore before themselves for a fraction of the cost?

I support outsourcing of ministerial jobs to talented people from outside and grant them PR and citizenship like what has been done with Minister Khaw Boon Wan upon fulfilling conditions of loyalty for the unity of the country.
The benchmarking of ministers' salaries to highest earners in the private sector is highly irregular if not illegal as all salaries should be determined at the point of entry or appointment and not changeable as anyone like by looking at what how others are paid and then paying themselves with higher salaries.
If this is not abuse of power what is ? -

Since all ministries r profit centres and be treated like a company, it is time to outsource all the ministries n ministerials posts in order to cut costs as what our sillypore gb had treated us by importing "FTs"!!! -

We all know what they will do when they take up these posts. These foreigners will come in and increase healthcare costs, transport costs and whatever things they can find to squeeze more money out of the people and make life even harder for ordinary Singaporeans. Heck, they will even demand increasing their own million dollar salaries by another million.

I dun think putting Singapore before self interests is an issue since ministers' perpetual demand for higher pay suggests that their loyalty is not to the nation but to money.
Thus, if ministers can ve hired from foreigners and they show self interests before national interests, they can be fired just as they are hired.
Wad's the point in having Singaporean ministers who only demans ever-increasing pay as this is against national interests being against our drive to cut costs.
Furthermore, ministers demanding higher pay is rather akin to blackmailing the country which we can surely do without as the ministers' motivation is not serving the nation but their own bank accounts!
Therefore, radical modifications may be in order...........

Don't outsource to FT, outsource to locals also can.
The humble Low Thia Khiang proposed pegging ministers' pay to what the poorest 20% of Singaporeans earned, and multiply the amount by 100.
We should give LTK's company a try !
To earn a million dollars a year, all he has to do is up the poorest 20% of Singaporeans' earnings, and then pressure him to narrow the gap between the rich, the middle class and the poor.
Seems fair to me. -

Our ministers say that they need to pay the best people to do the job, and to pay they the amount they are likely to earn in the private sector. They never mention that S'pore's ministers must have 'passion' to serve.
In this case, we can look for the best people all over the world to work as our ministers. If people accuse us of giving our ministers' jobs to foreigners who may be 'unpatriotic', please be reminded that even our own ministers now do not talk about 'serving with a passion'. Therefore, foreigners without passion for S'pore, but with the skills to make her even more successful, would be as good for S'pore's ministerial posts (if not better than), than money-drive (passion-untested) S'porean candidates. -
