Replace Singapore ministers with those from New Zealand?

New Zealand has 4 million people. SÂ’pore has 4.4 million people. Same-same.
NZÂ’s GDP/capita = S$40,000. SÂ’poreÂ’s GDP/capita = S$45,000. Same-same.
NZÂ’s prime minsterÂ’s pay = S$332,000/year (see http://www.knowledge-basket.co.nz/regs/regs/text/2003/2003305.txt). NZÂ’s ministersÂ’ salaries = S$180,000/year to S$240,000.
SÂ’poreÂ’s ministers pay = S$1,200,000/year (but they say they are worth up to S$2,200,000/year). (and some ministers even draw a pension on top of their salary, see http://blueheeler.wordpress.com/2006/06/29/more-peanuts-than-a-whole-herd-of-elephants-can-eat/)
According to http://www.finfacts.com/corruption.htm, NZ is ranked one of the 3 least corrupt countries in the world, and SÂ’pore is ranked 5th (i.e. NZ is perceived to be less corrupt than SÂ’pore).
SÂ’poreÂ’s PM Lee and other ministers have used the argument that they need to be paid closer to S$2,200,000 per year so as to keep corruption at bay.
With NZÂ’s ministers earning 7-10 times less than SÂ’poreÂ’s ministers, and being able to keep NZ the least corrupt country in the world, I wonder how come NZÂ’s ministers can keep such a clean govt for so much less money? Conversely, why do our SÂ’poreÂ’s ministers need so much more pay to stem corruption, when a clean govt like NZ could be had for much lower salaries?
In the interest of getting foreign talent for S’pore, I propose we hire the entire NZ cabinet to replace the S’pore one. All things considered, we can pay the NZ cabinet ‘peanuts’, and they’ll still ensure that S’pore remains wealthy and corruption-free. -

NZ ministers will most likely serve with greater passion and zest because they will most likely be able to question and provide alternative views and solutions unlike our ministers who simply accept everything said by their supremo and unable to stand up to check on excesses of unproven concepts and assumption.
It is time to bring in a few foreign ministers to check on all the hype about leadership of the last 40 years which is full of bull and assumption where intuitive leaders simply expect everything they say to be obeyed without questions. -
nz gvt has its own problems as well. Ministers abusing their perks, misappropriately using taxpayer's money for handmade underwears, first class tickets around the world for family members, etc.

Every country has its own weaknesses and strengths. If only we could emulate the good point of other people or other system we could go further than we have over the last 20 years where we have stagnated due lack of alternative views and solutions.
It is this ability and courage in speaking their mind without fear or favour, that we need to learn from the NZ ministers and some others.
If we do not then we would have to continue to put up with all the holier than thou arrogance and suffer higher taxes and rising cots caused by narrow track-minded authoritarianism which except for temporary world recovery is not likely to solve many problems. -

What exactly is the worth of our ministers? To me it is the quality of our lives, and those of our children and future generations. Is this not worth the couple of million dollars being proposed as ministerial remuneration?
They neber mutiply by 30 ministar 20 permanet secretaries... if add the all perm sec one year got how many million? 100 million? if times 5 how much?

If we need to continuously pay the leedar more ever higher salary so that they do not succumb to corruption, the leaders have no integrity. You mean if we dont increase the pay from 1.2 million to 2.2 million, these ministars would turn corrupt?
Singapore prospers or perishes by the ability and integrity of its leaders.
