I wonder whether are you guys aware of the way MNCs work..
Lets say an industry has a growth of 8% a year, then this MNC company's value also grew by 8%, that would mean that this company is not growing at all. They are just taking at "free" ride from the market.
If the targeted industry grew by 8%, then this particular public listed company MUST increase by at least 15-20%. Then it would be called growth. Else, heads would be rolling in the company.
This is actually happening in my company, the boss slaps the whiteboard and say we are just being stagnant and taking a "free ride" even though we increased revenue.
If your are working in a MNC, would your boss be happy over this kind of growth?
So whats so proud about Singapore growing by 5-7% every year? Are we just taking a free ride from the region and globally? Most developing countries hit 5-7% every year too, vietnam and china averages 8-9%..
Theres really nothing much to praise about... much less ado about salary increase and self rewards, self praise is no praise.
