Absolutely right. Such comparison is totally illogical and downright ridiculous. The benchmarking scheme simply falls flat for lack of substantiation by kpi and logical linkage between the salaries of top earners and the ministers.
Every success story has its own unique circumstances. There is a Chinese saying "Circumstances make the heros". Each CEO climbs his own career ladder based on his own unique set of attributes and circumstances. A subsequent CEO cannot emulate him and expect to be successful and must apply his own special attributes depending on new and changing needs and circumstances.
So, if today LKY is to try to gather a crowd with shouting of merdeka he might not create that much following or excitements. Today, if he wants to be charismatic with his followers, he may have to try much harder and lead by examples or some real abilities in getting everyone to apply practical knowledge and not show off his rhetorical or scholastic attainment.
