Shall foreigners be allowed involved in SG's politics?
Shall sporeans accept foreign funding to get involved
in sporean politics?
Shall I accept RMB $1billion ,B accept US$1 billion,
C Sterings pound 50million,D Yen 100billion.,E RM 4 billion.....
Then we all spend the easy $$$ and try to get majority
in parliment.Whoever become PM of SG will listen
to his foreign Master's order.That will be the beginning
of end of this little red dot.
The foreign powers will aim at our easy cash convertable
assets of over US$100 billions,not promoting democracy
like CSJ thinks.

3. This is not the first time that the SDP has involved foreigners in SingaporeÂ’s domestic politics. In 2003, the SDP organised a conference with foreign funding, but failed to declare it as required under the Political Donations Act.
His heading is Chee Soon Juan to debunk Lee Kuan Yew's remarks at Friday's forum.
But his is one of the 7 speakers,the rest are all foreigners.
So shall he change the heading of this forum to
''European Parliamentarians :We are ok with low pay.''

apply for a licence under the Public Entertainments and Meetings Act to organise a public forum and professional visit passes for several foreigners whom it had invited to speak at the forum respectively.
CSJ will,within days,claimed MHA and ICA delay the reply
and waste the foreigners money and time came to SG!!

What the heck is this moron talking about? We have been having foreigners involved in our politics since the beginning. Didn't some of the first ministers happen to be M'sians before they took Singapore citizenship?
And in any case, if we have nothing to hide, why are we trying to drive off outside scrutiny? Because we are afraid of what they might say might be the truth? -

What about our politicians going abroad and commenting on other people's systems of governance. Just a few days ago, we have the old man saying that Finland and Denmark are mediocre.
It's all the same. Get the context right. Why should CSJ operate by the PAP's ideology? Just because the latter thinks it's wrong, does not make it wrong. -

The problem is that the PAP has bankrupted so many local politicians that few good men dare to stand for elections. If these foreign speakers are good, I say give them PR and eventually Singapore citizenship to run for office... Who know we may get a few Finnish Civil servants..

To be really open and inclusive, a society ought to engage in exchanging views and ideas with foreigners, who are part of the global community.
Of all the argument that the PAP advanced to reject our application to hold this forum, the ludicrous claim that they do not want foreign interference in Singapore sounds the most absurd.
It shouldn't come from the PAP, which is heavily dependent on the so-called foreign talent and massive foreign investment to propel its tottering economy. The PAP always tells us to invite foreigners in our midst with open arms. In this age of globalization, Singapore can't be an island by itself.
What is wrong with foreigners sharing their views on democracy, freedom of speech, and freedom of association with us? These noble ideals are not something strange but are found in our Constitution and in the national pledge that our children are made to recite everyday.
It looks like it is alright if foreigners praise the PAP system. Only a couple of days ago, a foreigner of all places, Finland, wrote a flattering letter in the Straits Times justifying the ministerial salary and agreeing with the PAP that the government in Finland is mediocre. This Finnish guy happens to be the person who assaulted one of our Singaporean women. We do not want such character to pollute our thinking. In fact, he should be sent back to Finland, where he is wanted by the authorities there. We should be more cautious in giving PRs to such people rather than denying these honorable Members of the European Parliament from exchanging views and ideas on parliamentary democracy, which the PAP claims it supports.
It is the PAP, which seems to be over reliant on foreigners. Even in our National Wages Council, which determines how much our workers ought to be paid, there are foreigners. Council members from Germany, Japan and the US decide the worth of our workers. This is indeed the most disgraceful thing to the sovereignty of our country.
The PAP frequently organizes seminars and conferences in Singapore, inviting foreigners to speak. So, what is wrong in inviting European and Asian parliamentarians, who had just finished their annual meeting in Jakarta to stopover in Singapore to address us on issues pertaining to democracy?
The hot topic now is the ministerial multi-million dollar salary. Since Denmark and other European countries came up for mention not so favorably in our Parliament, we thought it would be a good idea for our MEP from Denmark to put the issue in proper perspective. What is wrong with that? Should we not encourage more such interaction? Will it not be good for an "open and inclusive" society that our Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong often advises us to be? -

Anyone with half a mind functioning as it naturally should wouldn't have trouble understanding the Danish, Swiss and Finnish economies measure better than Singapore's in almost every benchmarking standard available (be they GDP, GDP per capita, economic output, etc). Fair enough. No foreigners can come to Singapore to interfere with domestic politics.
We all know the saying, "Sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me," but this statement seems untrue if we really look at the power of speech. Speech can hurt and speech can heal; it can start wars or resolve an argument; it can encourage confidence in a person or destroy self-esteem.
The remarks our MM made about Singaporean women becoming maids and Scandinavian government being mediocre are uncalled for.
The countries he ‘referred’ to might take these words as racially charged code words and likely to induce them to become defensive and take ‘appropriate’ action, in their homeland.
There are already talks about ‘considerations’ withholding approval of a new EU-Singapore cooperation agreement being negotiated by the two sides.
In the Lianhe Zaobao today, some of SingaporeÂ’s second hand dealers of electrical goods
are affected by IndonesiaÂ’s import ban of the goods coming from Singapore.
These talks and retaliation did not take place in Singapore alright?.

Moreover, most of Europe did not support the Iraq war and just because they have their failings doesn't diminish their criticism in any fashion.
