Just make do with 2nd or 3rd rate equipment.Originally posted by HARIMAU:If still there's no ones could teach me how to post picture.well ...it really shows that Sgs are affraid of their own shadow. How well it might look if i post this in the 'other famous international forum'.

Its not the capabilities of Russian equipment. Its the problem of integration with our mainly Western systems, as well as design and production philosophy. Russian equipment are generally built to lower QA standards than Western systems, and life expectancy is significantly shorter than Western equivalents. Although they are generally more rugged than Western counterparts. What it means is that maintenance costs will almost be certainly higher than Western equipment, especially over time. Add this to the costs of bringing the equipment in line with the rest of Singapore's western equipment, the higher long term costs might actually negate the initial lower start up costs, as our neighbours are finding out.Originally posted by laser51088:I think Russian equipment is certainly up-to-standard these days, look at their Su-27, MiG-31 fighters and R-77 AAM. Good stuff, but i think Malaysia lacks the ability to train their people properly. I saw someone post in one of the threads some time ago about Malaysian pilots still having to argure about who shot who during training... not sure if its true, but if it is, it speaks volumes about their training... i'm not sure how they train their ground crew too, but i doubt it's very extensive, anyone have info about Malaysia airforce training pls comment cos i can't find training info except from forums... thanx in advance
In short RSAF and every branch of Mindef wants the lowest possible TCO with a fair degree of customisation and technology transfer..Originally posted by Viper52:Its not the capabilities of Russian equipment. Er.....are you trying to say that the malaysian jets can be petty formidable once they are in the airOriginally posted by duntalkrubbish:yeah...they might be able to shoot down rsaf fighters if they manage to take off in the first place!!!!
I think duntalkrubbish meant that the malaysian jets are so bad that they mignt not even be able to take off into the air.Originally posted by Mech^O^GATor:Er.....are you trying to say that the malaysian jets can be petty formidable once they are in the air![]()
Give them credit lah, if they can get half their MiGs up there its already an achievement! The A4s would be target practice at best, and the hornets? Ba... I won't even start. Now there is news in other forums that they will order both the Super Hornets and Su30. That ought to be fun - watch the base personnel go mad due to their lack of logistical support.Originally posted by LXC:I think duntalkrubbish meant that the malaysian jets are so bad that they mignt not even be able to take off into the air.
We must alway see our opponent as better than us rather than underestimating. This way it motivate us to do better.Over Underestimating opponent can only result in Unforgiven mistakes and losses.Originally posted by EXCO:Give them credit lah, if they can get half their MiGs up there its already an achievement!
