They had earlier paid an official visit to Singapore's Deputy Speaker Indranee Rajah and two other Singapore MPs in the afternoon. "We asked them to seek a review of the decision. They said they could not do that because it was a matter for the police. I can't believe that because I don't think Singapore is a police state," Mr Watson told reporters.

The EU said on Friday it regretted the decision. The ALDE added that the decision had "overshadowed" the Asia-Europe Foundation's 10th anniversary celebrations here on the same day.
The group, which has 106 members in the 732-seat EU Parliament, said the decision "throws into question" a Partnership and Cooperation Agreement being finalised between the EU and Singapore.

1. He is not sure if Singapore is a POLICE STATE or not!
2. Is the Police working for P*P or Singapore... when their actions ""throws into question" a Partnership and Cooperation Agreement being finalised between the EU and Singapore."
By the way the leaders are using power to do whatever they are doing - refusing to listen to feedbacks or alternative course of actions to right wrongs and injustices, it will be turning the country into a police state.
Evidences of our becoming a police state include:
(1) Ministers calling people who question them during election for their actions and policies which cause hardship. "I call you a liar and unless you sue me, you are a liar".
(2) Police in possession of evidences beneficial to accused refuse to tender or surrender such evidences to the defendant for the purpose of establishing justice.
(3) Abolition of jury to hear evidences of facts.
(4) Control of the media causing restrictions in reporting facts and problems affecting the people.
(5) Use of defamation suits to sue and disable potential election candidates from standing for election for the greatest good of the greatest number.
(6) Use of GRC to interfere with or prevent the best individual candidates from standing for election under the one-man-one-vote parliamentary democracy.
(7) Corporatization of essential government services into privatised GLCs which double charge and triple charge people again on assets and land costs which were already owned by the people.
Where the leaders only govern for their own benefits and convenience or expediency, the country becomes a police state or worse than a police state and the country no longer belongs to the people but the leaders - not even the ruling party which merely become the instrument for nkf wrong doings.
