Guess its time for RSAF to announce a Rafale package. Bye bye super bugs...[/url]

While hardware aquisition is a key to any modernisation drive, training, doctrinal issues and integration of new platform in a overall concept of operations and logistic planning are crucial to using the hardware. If either one of this is missing or not properly plan and executed, then the hardware aquire will not translate into operation superiority.
Malaysia's fighter deal is gonna be announced anytime now....
i heard we are getting a full sqd of the SH(16-18 )
and the Su-30MKM is kinda confirmed....just a matter of time.....
The interesting thing is the version we are getting is the same as MKI but the only difference is we are using french and russian avionics......
that means we get the su-30 with
1.thrust vectoring nozzles....(better manueverbility.....this method is used by the Su-37 and F-22)
2.Canards.....for better landing and t/o
Personally, I don't think its fair to judge how good the pilots are given a crash of two. RSAF F-16 crashed due to mid-air collision with another F-16, does that mean that the pilots who were involved in the mid air collision sucks? I don't think any Singaporean would so readily judge them so quickly.Originally posted by Orcishwarrior:I remember this is not the 1st time it happens for singapore i onli recall onces when singaporean plioted F-16 crash into the sea.
.Malaysia icident is either the technician or the pliot is at fault.Dun tell me the plane will start giving troubel if a thorough check done before take off.
The americans for sure aint gonna be interested in stupid palm oil... in fact... the americans think palm oil is harmful... and not as good as their american sunflower oil.....Originally posted by wombat:As usual....I'll believe it when I see the contract signed black and white. Err...if I recall correctly, Malaysia did say in all future arm deals, palm oil gonna be part of the payment. Somehow I doubt US is much interested in palm oil. Comments?
Do you know any RMAF pilots? Do you know their methods of training? Going to India to train? huh? I think RSAF went to Canada and US and France. It is a fact that the RMAF are still not up to RSAF pilot standards.Originally posted by Innocent_Malaysian:do you know any RMAF pilots??
if you dont pls dont criticize with even seeing them fly.....
and btw, recently the RSAF showed off by announcing they have full A2A refueling capability.......the RMAF also has tankers and occasionally train with them.....
Since we are on the topic of refueling...a thought just popped into my mind. Am I correct to assume the refueling probes are different on the Su-27?...I do not think they are NATO complient. As such their refueling abilities are limited somewat.Originally posted by EXCO:I am amazed you actually brought up RMAF's aerial refuelling capabilities. RSAF does have full air to air refuelling capabilities, the KC-135s are not for show, and they are the only dedicated tankers in the region. RMAF has tankers, sure. "occasionally train with them" ?!?!?! OCCASIONALLY!? means what? once in a week? once in 2 weeks? Haha, what a joke.
I agree with your point that Singapore has the technology to modify the probes to NATO standard. However, i beg to differ on your last point. It is not a matter whether the fighter can sustain itself on fuel, it is the training with the tankers that matter. Airborne tanking is not an easy task, and if not trained regularly it is arguably the most difficult task to perform while in the air. Sure, RMAF aircraft can sustain itself without the need for aerial refuelling for the most part, however they will thus lack that valuable capability as they lack the necessary training to perform it.Originally posted by Orcishwarrior:actually i think singapore technology has mastered the technology and skill to integrate NATO Standard probe into a non-Nato plane fuel tank for example russian Su-30,For past few year back drozens of RSAF planes were been integrated with Refueling probes which was done by singapore technology aerospace.
I m confidence STae can do likewise to Su-30.
Since RSAF has several oversea detatchments planes like stratotanker 135 are being use regularly. For RMAF i m not surprised by when replied that
RMAF uses air refueling plane occasionally since fighter jet can be transport without much fuel
