I do have some respect for the malaysian military dispite all that i have said... and i stress.... i dont believe they would employ someone like you to work for them..... -

wow, i went off for few days and now got so many new posts. what happened to that flamer HARIMAU? and I was reading through some of the posts. Unfortunately, I have to say this, I doubt Innocent_Malaysian is actually from the malaysian military. I can claim to be from the SAF as well :
hey, you know what..., SAF has some special bombs for use as 'silver bullets'. (Tony Tan refered to silver bullets for SAF a few years back) but i can't tell you what bomb it is.. secret lah...

secondly, I saw alot of references about waiting for Malaysia to make their official announcement. I don't think anything short of a confirmed purchase order will mean much when it comes to the Malaysian military. They officially announced to have a submarine force operational by the year 2000 in the 1980s... also, they announced that they were going to get the E-2C soon after Singapore got ours... all that came to nothing (okay well, maybe they did buy the Scorpene subs in the end but its a bit late to be operational by 2000 don't you think )
the MLRS strikes calculated by HARIMAU much earlier is not a very good account. You are assuming all your uncontrollable tiny little bomblets whack whereever you want it to. (otherwise they'll end up bombing a few foreign country embassies as well, worst case scenario, bomb israeli embassy, i dun want to think...) you are also assuming all missles strike their target, all MLRS fully opreational, able to deploy without getting itself detected (by satellites even, since Singapore can recieve sat images at NUS, though they are officially not for military use. I also doubt the US NSA will hang around and watch their satellite imaging of MLRS firing a few pretty little missiles at Singapore while they have 16k citizens here. After the 911 criticism, another incident like will really kill the American government.

I've said it before: With only 18 launchers, its really stupid to use those rockets on HDB flats...
sure, u destroy the enemy's morale... and u also piss off a lot of NSmen who's got no more family to return to... there's gonna be hell to pay for such terror tactics... a battery of FH2000 might just make a "mistake" and incinerate a kampung... sure, shorter range and slower rate of fire than rockets, but there sure are a lot more of them...
Does anybody really think that a conflict in this region between different countries will result in Total War? If not, then we have to factor in the element of restraint that will be reflected in the rules of engagement... it won't be no holds barred... -
