These agents and speculators are saying that they have confidence in making tons of monies because of this government secret plan to import foreign talents to replace the locals.
So that talk circulating among property circles is : "Not to worry about buying properties at high prices as the property prices will continue to go up because of government's secret high-level policy to replace the local citizens with these property-speculating foreigners.
It sounds a logical government policy - to desert their own citizens if necessary so as to enrich themselves and their connections.
There is already an existing policy passed sometime ago to grant citizenship to foreigners on investment of S$5 millions part of which could be in property. So there you are the high-level policy to import foreigners to replace quitters is not entirely without basis.Originally posted by ShutterBug:Sounds deviously possible, but how true or accurate are these allegations - or rumours?

This has already happened when we liberalized our HDB rules some years back to allow Hongers to buy HDB flats. However the Hongkongers sold the HDB flats for quick profits and went back to Hong Kong which is a more thriving city making us all suckers.Originally posted by will4:I think some of the foreigners buying property might be hoping to gain from an uplift in their investment. They might sold it later after gaining a profit.
I also remembered to assure Spore PR of their children future well being in NSOriginally posted by robertteh:This has already happened when we liberalized our HDB rules some years back to allow Hongers to buy HDB flats. Seriously, what benefits would you expect from a despotic regime who is desperately trying to milk as much out of its citizenry as humanly imaginable while they remain in power?Originally posted by LazerLordz:For the life of me, I cannot see the benefits of such a move.
