I am no Lee I am Tan Ah Teck. Sorry to disappoint you but I am an honest man, and I don't think they are members of sgforums.Originally posted by joola74:I need to ask the Lee's afew question here,
what i never understand is that when it comes to vote. why does the majority vote for PAP? Not even a new single seat of opposition was voted in?Originally posted by joola74:The 'P'ayrise 'A'nd 'P'ayrise Government told us.... they build Singapore to what it is today with high GDP...strong economy with good prosperity, they need to rise their pay inorder to keep those talents from falling into the hands of the foriegn company.
I need to ask the Lee's afew question here,
1) Tell us who is going to resign from the government sector.Nam it or better still let them be known to the public.
2) If they really want to go, can they be replaced by others? If the Lee say yes...then solve the problem. If noooo...., wah lau then that means we die die must depend on those few talents to keep Singapore afloat???Make sense or simply no logic?Imagine the fate of the economy of Singapore can't be replaces by others but to depend on those few who threaten to resign....or had to increase pay to attract talents... just think if those companies keep increasing the top talents pay, then does it mean that the goverment had to rise their pay again in the furture to keep them in bay???
3)Lee like to compare Singapore clean and no corrupt with countries like Burma, Thailand, Philiphines....etc.OK, dont tell me the Lee's doesnt even know that those poor countries corruption not only with the small flies but their top key leaders who already are rich.... corrupted too????I know of this report from strait times about the Burma goverment celebrating dunno what birthday or wedding and cause alot of people from their country scolding their government got soooo many money but did not help the poor but instead spend the large amount of money taken from the poor on unneedy things like celebrating birthday. Those who know about this news please let me know where i can get this information from.Thanks.
From the above show that money can stop corruption and keep talents is totally not 100% true.Certain amount of salary is a must to keep talents and also help to tackle the corruption but not a 100% cure to it.
And also, why the Lee's did not mention about that the Mp got special privilages which the private sectors dont have?
Please comment and give me feedback on what i said....thanks!
whatever arguments u can and cannot think of have already been said by many MPs in the debate. There's no need to ask anymore.Originally posted by joola74:The 'P'ayrise 'A'nd 'P'ayrise Government told us.... they build Singapore to what it is today with high GDP...strong economy with good prosperity, they need to rise their pay inorder to keep those talents from falling into the hands of the foriegn company.

If the public didn't make such a big hooha out of this salary hike, I am sure the PM would have gladly kept his increment without having to make the "painful" decision to donate it to charity.Originally posted by sunnytv:They care only their wallet and salaries, The poor are left to rot and eat rubbish. They said $290 is enough to help the poor, then they should take the salaries of $290 per month and survive themselves with no car, expensive spending. best still, they should eat rubbish themselves, as they are talking rubbish themselves nowadays. The money for bearing the first child and second child is very difficult to get. you have to pay a sum before you can get it. Corruption is everywhere and is getting worse day by day.
Everything is a trap and plot. They increased GST by 2% saying helping the poor. Everyone has no choice but to accept the fact since the intention of GST is to help the poor and unfortune. In the end, it turn out that the 2% GST is for their pay hike. When minister pay hike announced, it anger public except its supporters. However, they oredi has a backup plan, the PM saying he will donate any increased from his pay for 5 yrs to calm the public. Don't forget only he donate out his increased pay which made up of maybe only 0.01% of the 2% GST. That mean the rest of the 2% GST still went to the rest of the ministers.
Saying increased pay hike to keep talents is all an excuse. It is the work environment that matter. If a job has high pay but involved high risk, will anyone want to stay. Actually, there are alot of factors that keep talents away from public sector, it just they are lazy to analyze. Millions dollar still can't keep a talents, that mean no matter how much they won't stay. Only greedy and corruption talents will stay since they hold the power to manipulate the public.

[b]Ex-MP Chng Hee Kok charged with infringing Companies Act
SINGAPORE: Former Member of Parliament Chng Hee Kok was charged in court for failing to disclose his interest in a company.
He is the current Chief Executive of NTUC Club.
Also charged with the same offence was NTUC Club's General Manager, Shirley Lee.
The case will be heard again next month.
Chng was MP for about 16 years till 2001.
Chng and Lee face three charges each.
The two are directors of four NTUC Club-linked companies like NCI Leisure and Resorts Concept.
The charges read Chng and Lee had acquired a stake in one of the four companies but failed to inform the other three companies about it.
That is a violation of the Companies Act.
Lee Teck Leng, the lawyer for Chng and Lee, said: "As far as my client, Mr Chng, is concerned, he said that now that the matter is in the hands of the court, he'll leave it to his lawyers to manage the case for him and as his lawyer, I'll be writing to the Attorney-General's Chambers to try and achieve a speedy resolution to this case.
Each charge carries a fine of up to $5,000 or a maximum jail term of one year.
Both Chng and Lee are still Directors of the four NTUC Club-linked companies. They are also still carrying out their duties at the NTUC Club.
