Have ministers lost their moral authority to lead?

One by one, after PM Lee beat the retreat and announced that he would donate his own pay rise to charity, the ministers like Vivian Balakrishnan and Yaccoob all came out to speak on the issue trying to make it look like PM Lee has already long ago decided to donate his own pay rise to charity.
Do people believe the ministers any more? What are they trying to tell Singaporeans ? Are they trying to convince citizens that our ministers are people of high moral standing and not people who only want to enrich themselves.
Have the ministers lost their authority to lead if people no longer believe in what they are saying? -

They are not there to lead.
Just look at how they perform during the discussion, they are all selected on the criteria of saying YES and suck ing up to the old man and his son.
The peasants have long given up on the poodles who cannot even perform their basic duties of taking care the peasants.
They are just there to form the gang and make money and dozed off during the yearly meeting.

After this episode, it reinforces the mindset that ministers are just "yes-people".
After the PM or MM has issued a rebuttal against some of the opposition, these ministers would often repeat the same thing a few days later, word by word.
Sad.
So very sad. -
To me, Teo Chee Hean sounds illogical with his responses to questions on the pay rise, and further justifies what the average Singaporean believes. He is NOT WORTH the money paid to him, and he probably can't earn that much when he is in the private sector.
Vivian's statement, on 'let's put the pay rise issue behind, and let's move on together', smacks truly of insincerity, and lack of sensitivity, and also further cements the opinion that all these ministers are in there for themselves, and don't care one bit about the pains of Singaporeans.
In contrast, Sylvia, the NMP's speech was truly a passionate one, and one that actually moved my cold heart slightly. Now, THAT lady is worth every penny, and she is paid so little as compared to those 2 above! -

if the ministers are here to lead, then they have morally lost their authority, if they are here to serve the people, at least they are still morally acceptable. furthermore, they should be electedby the people. not walk-in ministers. if $$$ is what they think they have lost out, maybe the should just contribute by leaving

but seriously, pegging their wages to the top earners does say a lot... CEOs usually get away with truckloads of dosh.. and they don't care about the sweatshops which produce their goods... in fact, they try to find places to get these sweatshops running..

People can read from ministers' daily utterances and the media reports that all they are really interested in or concerned with is to continue to protect their own jobs and present their own versions of success to the outside world - whether Singaporeans share their success or not is immaterial
