Does PM Lee needs two special advisers like MM and SM?

Consultants are paid specifically for a certain contracted period of advise or service; what is MM and SM's role in the Cabinet ?
If both their roles are advisory in nature, do they have to be permanent staff on a permanent Cabinet payroll year-after-year ?
Would it not have been cheaper to pay them their due state pension for stepping down from Public Office, and pay them a fee as visiting consultants to tackle specific result orientated assignments ?
The continued creation of new political appointments - in a Government by the continued rule of this Ruling Party - seems to be a unique Singapore Style "Pork Barrel" Politics.
Is this the way to spend the largesse in the National Reserves that has been accumulated by the previous Government Cabinets led by LKY and GCT ?
The color of white seems to be getting grey, and black spots are careless left behind through years of rule that leaves a sense of arrogant invincibility. -

Based on the CIA Fact Book, the estimated population size for Singapore by July 2007 will be 4,553,009 with the estimated population growth rate being 1.275%.
Discounting the birth rate of 1.275%, the Singapore 2006 Population Size will be about 4,494,958.
In the Singapore General Election 2006, it was reported that the number of eligible voters was 2,158,439, which is about 48% of the total Singapore population of 4,494,958.
From this number of eligible voters, only 1,222,884 Singaporeans actually had the opportunity to cast their votes, which is a mere 56.65% of the 2,158,439 eligible votes; and with this number representing only 27.2% of the total Singapore population of 4,494,958.
The Ruling Party obtained only 66.6% of the votes cast - which is only 747,860 from a total of 1,222,884 votes.
This 747,860 votes represent only 34.648% of the size of the eligible voters, and a mere 16.637% of the total 2006 population size of 4,494,958.
Thailand, a self-admitted Third World Country, had seen the Thai Constitutional Court declaring the 2006 Election to be null and void when only Thaksin's Political Party was returned to govern based on minority votes (with the larger parts of the urban and rural population abstaining).
Why will Singapore - a self-declared First World Country - practise a lower standard of political process ? -

It means that there is no one really in charge of restructuring or upgrading the economy.
That also means that the past policies of promoting only the elites and academics can no longer work?
Has MM Lee and SM Goh any special or new solutions during these past twenty years when we see a domestic sector weakening with time and suffering from stagnation or stalemate as compared with countries like Korea or Finland ?
If they do not have any new solutions except to keep promoting their own kind of academic talents, then PM Lee does not have good advice or help?
If is better that he be his own man as he cannot continue to hope that the academic will add more values after failing to do so for past 20 years.

I totally agree with you. That's why I think that Lee hsien loong does not deserve such high pay. If we are given a choice, majority of us will not vote him as our PM. So far, I think he is not performing that well, he is just mediocre! It is $$$ that they want fat increment. If they care so much about making so much $$$$ and want to be competitive then they can go become businessmen. Same here.....since there are money to be scooped, and easily does it, why give it to others. Share the loot don't give a damn hoot, after all what can the common peasants do, besides mourning and groaning. The old goats may not be able to carry the money with them when they die, but their NEXT SEVERAL generations can feed on it.
