Why is American life more precious than Iraqis?

When a gunman kill 32 students in America that is breaking news and news coverage is everywhere on BBC and CNN, FOXNews ABC etc for days.
Everyday there are more Iraqis killed in Iraq and what news coverage do we have? -

Take for example. 2 policeman died in line of duty recently is Sg but so did 2 illegal immigrants/ciggy smugglers. Can you say that we should not feel sad for the 2 policeman since 2 ciggy smugglers also died?
When i read the report about how the police have to ram the ciggy smuggler boats to destroy their engine, I was thinking why don't they just shoot the buggers. -

First is "News and viewership" network like to capture dramatics scene. Its so happen that we watch English speaking channel news. Try Al jazzeral.
It is not that American life are more precious than the Iraqis. It is the important that people place on themselve. You might call it arrogant, self righteouness. -

In Iraq it is not unexpected for a car bomb to go off or insurgents lobbing RPGs at you, hence after a while it does not become big news.
On the other hand, you don't get school shootings all that often. -
Ya, that is true, novelty or newness/ uniqueness.
But another aspect, apart from that.
As u mention CNN, FOXNews, ABCnews, of course they will cover more domestic interest news event or happening, in this case a campus shooting, compared to Al-Jazeera, or other Middle Eastern media. This is the same everywhere with all media. Of course all media will cover the news which are more captivating, closer to the hearts of their audience.
Now but....
For a 'neutral' media........let's say....a media thousands of miles away....a continent away...let's say...Singapore.
There is a problem in my opinion. Straits Times very much like to mimic and channel everything the Western media say. Everything is USA, USA USA.
I think it has very much become a satelite of USA interest. Everything is viewed from Western and USA perspective, USA world view.
It surprised me to see.....when the first day or second day of the shooting happened......Straits Times simply copied everything, it's like cut-and-paste. Re-parrot everything.
There was an article mentioning the Jewish professor who got killed, 'heroically' saving students. There was also reference to his Holocaust past and also how he got killed on a day which is Hosh** something something, I dont remember, a Jewish remembrance day related to Holocaust.
When I read that.....my thought was....my goodness.....why is this relevant at all to the people in this part of the world, South-East Asia, Singapore. How many percent of the people here are of Jewish ethnicity. Why is Straits Times so dumb to simple copy everything that the USA media has to say, including channeling and broadcasting the views of the Jewish-controlled US media.
I was only slightly, very slightly, a little consoled...when the next day or so...I saw a photo and coverage of Indonesian victim/ family. This is at least a bit more relevant for the Singapore audience. But, it was only a tiny drop in the ocean, as I notice most of the coverage still follow USA view.
Straits Times.......a very big disappointment.....it could have been a very useful and powerful tool....as it is a dominant media. It could have been an engine to change or promote social aspects in Singapore. But what happen.....it's very sterile....dysfuntional...simply re-parrot everything Western media say...turning Singapore into some kind of 51st USA State.....really such a waste. It's a shame.
