Su-30 - must buy new AGM and AAM , logistic and mantaince problem , it's not nice 2 have 1 to crash in e middle of e national stadium on national day. F/A-18 - We don't 1 something that our northern neighbour have and have knowledge of. F-15E - consume too much fuels , and is pretty old compare to the other contesters. F-16 Block-60 - Is just an upgrade of the regular Falcon , we can always do some xtensive upgrading later.

Can anybody confirm - some RSAF pilots have already flown the Rafale in France on a regular basis?

oops, i just saw the stats of the Rafale and i gotta admit, its pretty damn good. (look at what i said about Singapore's choice will be in another thread about Malaysia's armaments purchases) okay, so maybe they will choose the Rafale but I'm not sure what real steps they have taken toward buying the rafale
also, i doubt if the production of the JSF (its not really 'complete' like the other aircraft) will be in time for the RSAF) now
however, i think the Rafale will win this bid but there is a very high possibility for Singapore to purchase the JSF as well in future as replacemenment for F-5s and F-16s for use in interception. Also, as the Rafale can also be used in interception, Singapore will have a very formidable air defence then...
