India has overtaken China long long ago. This is well known in the world. The starter of the thread is wrong in the first place by saying India will overtake China in future.
Why are u so anti china ? Are u chinese , if you are not then keep shut !Originally posted by ShutterBug:Overtake???
I'm more worried that China will introduce another horrible and deadly desease like SARS, that will cripple world economy!!![]()
It takes two hands to clap, if China and their people are generally good, I say they are good people. Everytime they screw up on something major, they'd cover it up - refuse to ask for assistance or notify anyone else, until sh|t hits the fan like in SARS... all because of??? FACE!!! What Farking Face??? Now got a lot of FACE meh???Originally posted by 02tonyl:Why are u so anti china ? Are u chinese , if you are not then keep shut !
Btw China does not need to introduce a new disease to cripple the world economy, if she wants, all she needs to do is just to dump all the $1.2 trillions forex reserve in the world market and DOOM !
And i find it extremely silly to keep comparing India to China. Dont u guys get tired of this at all ? I see this all over the internet already and now i come here and i see this again, and so many anti- china thread and posts. China and India chose different paths to develop therefore they get different results. C'mon get over it and leave them be.
And btw can some singaporean answer this question for me please ?? Why are u ppl here are so anti china ?? China did not do anything bad to ur country or ppl , did she ? I notice that in every thread, you lot have to bring China in and bash, if you guys detest the country that bad, then do no talk about it
Thank you for reading
And i hope there will be less anti china sentiments on this board.

Anyway, China will everntually outdo themselves - they are like a leashed dog unleashed after hundreds of years being leashed...
Btw, I'm Straits Born Chinese peranakan, and I have Portuguese blood...
I'm far from China.. even if I am directly related, I'd still despise them..
What makes you think, they regard us as their equals, or as brothers and sisters?
Haven't u seen how they come here and end up murdering their own kinds here like dogs??

How they will eventually outdo themselves, I leave it to the passing of time to reveal in detail as it unfolds...Originally posted by 02tonyl:What do u mean by outdo themselves ?? can you please elaborate this a bit more.
Ok i see ur point, u mean because those mainlanders see us as aliens (or outsiders) then we should retaliate back and go on a China bashing spree. Even though that is the place where our ancestors were born and raised.
I mean c'mon, China is still a developing country, just give them time and things will improve, as the country becomes more prosperous, the attitudes of the ppl will change with it as well. Seriously though, have u seen any citizens of a developing country with the attitudes of the person of a developed country, take singapore as an example, back in the 60s, I believe the human development of the singaporean ppl were not that high, ppl were not that polite, the city was not that clean, only when Singapore becomes prosperous, her ppl became more aware of the attitude, more ppl are educated, hence, they understand more about impression of the outsiders can affect the country. You cannot expect a developing country to have a first world attitude, come on they are still striving for a livingOriginally posted by ShutterBug:How they will eventually outdo themselves, I leave it to the passing of time to reveal in detail as it unfolds...
Well, if you feel you can identify with the likes of them, good for you. But if you ask of my opinion and the impression they'ev given me countless times, I will NEVER see them in better light...

Although Singapore has become prosperous, the attitude of the people has not "improved", said to say. Despite his anti China sentiment, Shutterbug is right that "back in the 60s, we have more thoughtful, and courteous people locally, now with higher educations, skills, globally mobile, people have become so stuck up!".Originally posted by 02tonyl:I mean c'mon, China is still a developing country, just give them time and things will improve, as the country becomes more prosperous, the attitudes of the ppl will change with it as well. Wealth has not made Singaporean more EDUCATED, we just became more literate, but a lot more arrogant than ever before, from the very top of the government. Listen to what MM said about the breakthrough made by the singapore government, and the mediocre government in Scandinavia, and down to many Singaporean who travel and complain about how dirty some places are, " in Singapore we are much better'......Honestly, if Singaporeans do care about the impression of outsiders, HUMILITY is not part of our attitude, Boasting and Bragging are the trend of the time. If we need to run down others to show our achievement, we inherently lack the confidence to convince.
This is also a form of discrimination...Originally posted by dreameryb:Social studies have shown again and again that prejudice and discrimination exists among polulation that lie in the very lowest stratum of society in terms of education level and economic viability. This says a lot about the social standing of some of the posters here. This also makes it an impossibility to reason with them as they are not capable of rational and objective thinking.
This is a very critical thinking, applause for you . This is the most sensible post i have read so far in this racism ridden forum. At least you stated why you do not like PRCs, unlike other singaporean members here, they don't even know why they hate PRCs, it is like a fashion trend to them. It is like everything with the label China is always cheap, dirty, rude, bad, worthless to them.Originally posted by sgdiehard:Although Singapore has become prosperous, the attitude of the people has not "improved", said to say. China is known to the world because it is a big country with 1.3 billion people; Singapore is kown to the world first because of the most expensive cars, now for the highest paid ministers. What kind of impression do we really want people to know about us? I am always proud of Singapore because people of all religions and races can live harmoniously together. I am very proud of the founders of Singapore because of their sacrifices.
In China, we respect our ancestors because they took great risks and endure hardship to strive for a better future. I know about China because of what Confucious said, the sacrifices of Sun Yet Sen in fighting against the Qing Dynasty, I even respect the Tai Ping Tian Guo (despite their stupidity) for giving up their lives against the foreigners. But these impressions went down the drain when I met the modern Chinese, first from ROC, then PRC, especially the "newly rich" or the "bao fa hu". Virtues such as sacrifices for the nation, gracousness, humility....do not exist anymore, these diminish with prosperity.
My conclusion is: Prosperity brings wealth, wealth brings corruption! When people try all means to get money, the illegal ways called corruption, bribery, and even the not so illegal ways such as self renumeration....., we see things going wrong. Take the case of TT Durai of NKF, his bossess approved his salary and benefits, he approved excessive bonuses to his beloved subordinates, it never appeared to be wrong, even the then PM wife said his salary was only peanut. But is it wrong now?
If Chinese from PRC cares about what others think about them, $1.2 trilion or even more $ will not impress anybody, it does not matter if your country is developed or developing, it all depends how you and your countrymen behave, especially in front of foreigners, in and outside of China.
I think local Chinese complaining about PRC should take a look at their attitude first before shooting off their comments.Originally posted by zenden9:I bet many of u have serve NS before and know what is it like to be working in a place full of Singaporean and all have first hand experience of their working attitude. Especially the eye power part which is indeed eye opening..
After I left SAF and work in a multi-foreign global company. I detested my past of working in SAF more.. I have a PRC superior,he is uncoth and talk big but at least he really fold up his sleeves and work together...
Those Singaporean Chinese bashing the PRC,pls take a look at yrself first!
Yeah, the purpose of NS is to cover those FT's fat asses. The MIW don't care if our families are going to suffer losses in war time.Originally posted by will4:I think local Chinese complaining about PRC should take a look at their attitude first before shooting off their comments.
Remember the courtesy campaign launched by the govt, it seemed to have backfired n some PRC professional said one thing is true luckily Spore got NS to teach local to defend their country n some basic manner which the courtesy campaign failed to instill in.
Originally posted by drawer:They will definitely overtake China. There are 2 reasons:
1)China should have a political reforms before economical reform, just like Russia n Eastern Europe.Becoz all the problem arise from "Political first",there is no problem from the public structure at all!!!
It is just like if your hand feel painful, you dont go n apply medicine on your legs,it wont solve your problem.
2)China one child policy. This policy will deeply hurt China economical structure in future as more n more population will grow old n more youngs have to support older population. And also, the quality of their children wont be good as parents spoil their child due to one child policy.
Just like Singapore in the 70's n 80's,China are making a very bad decision to restrain their population growth through political enforcement.
This are the 2 reasons why India will win China in future......Sometimes i am just wondering, why our Chinese politicians are sooo lousy.Singapore PAP is like that, mainland China also like that, only Taiwan politicians are much better. Is it becoz of genes?
let me guess, you like to speak English (Singlish) to them, right?Originally posted by Texcoco II:There are some PRC people who are so full of themself that they refused to even talk to Singaporeans.
