He's saying that losers should not blame LKY or anyone else but themselves. This, if I interprete correctly from his posts, refers to the individual's standard of living as shown in his last sentence above.
I was just trying to tell him that it does not mean if a person wants LKY out, it's because he is not coping well with the cost of living in Singapore. People who are living really comfortably may also want LKY out. After all, we are all Singaporeans. We want the best for everyone, right?
A person's quality of life is not the point here. It's this country's governance.
if a person standard of living is not the point, then why do we still want to stay in this country? what are you talking about? if the citizens are not happy with the government, do you think we will still vote for them if our quantity of life is poor or at least min standard?

It would probably be helpful if I rephrase like this: A person's 'below par' quality of life is not the only determinant why many are unhappy with the current governance.

and why do i feel like pulling my hairs while reading his post is because he use wrong definition in his sentence, and still wants to argue with people, and he don't even know what is he saying
and NO! i don't hate LKY, he did what he could, to build a strong nation, and for that, i applaud him, and recognise him as the founding father of singapore, and i fear of him
as i mention earlier on, in my post, neither do i oppose the government, nor do i support their policy whole heartily, i know what they are passing the bills for the sake of national interest, and it is a tough decision, and will the citizen understand the minister agony, the answer is NO!
we are just simple folks who wants to have at least, able to express our thoughts freely, instead of being dictate around. Sure, no problem allentyb. I feel almost the same as you where PAP is concerned.
I have tremendous respect for LKY too but he seems to have indulged in too much power that he cannot think straight for Singapore anymore.
Many PAP supporters have been brainwashed by the education system so it cannot be helped that they think this way. Go screw all the baby boomers if you would like to also . A big majority of this generation support the PAP because they have lived thru turbulent times. Sad to say, including my father but I respect his views and personal experiences.
Let's just do what we can....keep posting in Sgforums, educate the junior ones and put our vote to use the next election. -

our day to day lives are going to be affect by the bills that the government has passed, and we as citizens, are concerned about our needs, and the impression that the government is giving us, is that, they prioritise the corporation over us, think the lower the tax of corporate tax by 2% and increase the gst by 2 % to fill up the gap.
what are we, suppose to think? Our understanding and patience have been abused by the government, and we should keep quiet, and lie low, meh?
it is this sort of people, that are damaging the reputation of PAP.
I don't hate the government, i merely hate the way, they handle the situation.
If i have to vote for the opposition in order to see changes, then i will, because i am willing to take chances, in order to see reform in singapore, then maybe, just maybe, PAP will learnt that, citizens are not to be taken for granted. -

What this regime is currently doing is nothing more than an extreme version of the Reagan administration (adopting the same corporate philosophy without any nuance of social justice nor the slightest regard for its citizenry) - given Singapore's geopolitical advantages in the region and a population willing to bite the bullet at their own expense for the greater good of the fascists, there's little doubt this economy will be boosted further through the corporate incentives. With the economic boost, expect the fascists to start re-writing their own paychecks in no time for the exceptional "talent" they've in helping suppress the citizenry's welfare for corporate interests.
In time, this serves as nothing more than a vicious cycle already documented in the Orwellian classic "Animal Farm"...
