According to one Uncle Yap in Sammyboy Forum, former WP chief JBJ has been discharged from bankruptcy. But no news from the local press so far.

Right. Here is a fighter who knows LKY's brand of dirty politics more than anyone else in the world.
Unfortunately for him, and Singaporeans, he has been a big shooting target for his archrival.
JBJ was also receiving the wrong headlines in our pro-government medias (how can any fair-minded, decent person ever want to work in Straits Times news and Mediacorp news).
I always felt JBJ should know better than to rush head onto a well-horned self-styled emperor. Dangerous.
Come one, Singapore is a police state, you gotta tread carefully as an opposition, abide your time.
Anyway, I am happy for JBJ.

OK, to put it more accurately, JBJ paid up but is not discharged yet. But since he met the OA conditions, getting out shouldn't be a problem.
Yes, that is the same Uncle Yap who went to jail with Dr CSJ.
JBJ has resigned from WP long time ago. I kinda think WP will not do anything. They seemed to have moved on without him. LTK seems focused on renewal all the time and JBJ is 81. -

He used to be my MP when my area's called Anson when I was little kid.
I still think they did a great job back then which includes organizing alot
of activities for the residents like fanfares, outdoor movies, drawing competitions.. all pretty large scale one. I even won a toy car during a lucky draw when he picked my number.
Anyway..pap so tired of Anson being the rogue estate..they merged it with Tanjong Pagar....so guess who's my MP now???

The fact that JBJ suddenly discharged himself from bankruptcy could means he has some benefactor(s).
Now the government will be interested as in the origins of the payment.
One person contributor means someone is backing JBJ.
Maybe it is his son and it all fall flat, maybe is is someone else.
Who?
Or is it a collective effort, this would mean there is still strong support for JBJ., and he ain't over the hill yet.
The PAP political machinery will be buzzing. -
