You can check the NHS waiting times from its website (http://www.nhs.uk/england/aboutTheNHS/WaitingTimes/Search.aspx)...If I have a fall and injured my back..(a number of forumners here talk about prolapsed discs), how long will I have to wait to get the surgery I need?
Put in my area code and this is what I get:
"Inpatient waiting times for Spinal Injuries
The table below shows the waiting times for Inpatient appointments in Spinal Injuries within England.
The hospital trusts are sorted by distance from your postcode (nearest first). You can also sort by waiting time.
Some kinds of treatment (or specialties) are divided into more specialised areas, which are called sub-specialties.
Click on a trust to see its sub-specialties - if there are none you will see consultants' waiting times instead.
Trust Shortest wait (days) Longest wait (days)
Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust [b]124 124
The waiting time depends on which consultant you see. The chart shows the longest and shortest times for each trust.
Hospital and trusts
All hospitals are managed by NHS trusts, which are responsible for making sure that the hospitals provide high quality health care, and that they spend their money efficiently. Trusts often manage more than one hospital, and they can include other organisations such as health centres.
Note: this is for an injury....an urgent problem. If you have a chronic back problem, good luck to you! By the way, some services have been withdrawn and you cannot even find it. Try to look for hip replacement surgery elsewhere![]()

Sycophants are largely disconnected from the realities of living in a fascist regime and I guess it's forgivable for their shallow intellect to be convinced the British taxmen actually collect 100 times more taxes than this regime...Originally posted by eggprata:To say our taxes are low? Look around you
And I thought the self-disguised NHS staff was going to come back and harp about how socially irresponsible it must be for the Brits to fund for the dole, among other social benefits, through the NIC...Originally posted by maurizio13:The waiting time must have increased exponentially since you started work.

I found out some beneficial information for you.
If you need any psychiatric help, you don't need to wait too long for it.
You can go over Portsmouth. Seriously, you need immediate attention.

Some medical services have been withdrawn? Can you name the few that have been removed?
According to my good friend who works in SGH, said it is not possible that there is shortage of doctors. They always make sure they are sufficient doctors on duty to serve the patients. Even doctors are on leave they will get others to cover their duty. As for shortage of beds, it is possible.Originally posted by ShutterBug:Lame as hell excuses about Peak Hours and what nought....
So many decades have gone by, and yet Hospitals, A&E, and Polyclinis are still plaque with excuses like shortage of doctors, not enough beds, etc...
What does this tells us?
A country and population of our size, don't tell me, 40 over years cannot improve a little on these sort of shortcomings??? Bearing in mind all the reserves our gov have been hoarding.... for what!?!?!
10 years ago Polyclinic long Que, 10 years later Polyclinic still long que plus same complains!!!
WTF!!!!
Possible that oxford mushroom is a spy or he just suck up to them the ruling party. One does not know until one is burnt by fire. There are more than one government hospitals, and why is it that SGH receives the most complaints and the complaints and negative feedback is non stop.Originally posted by eggprata:Thanks to the feedback i gave them,my appointment has been brought forward to the 18th.
And yeah those are excuses.Lame excuses. You sure oxford mushroom that you not sent by the pap to come in here and spy on us?Come on man its all crap.Or you haven't been to a government hospital before. You should.Or perhaps you went there for fever and running nose that was they attended to you fast and service was good.
That sums about almost everything.
Wow, so condescending not even a sense of sympathy in the above message. Cold blooded!!Originally posted by oxford mushroom:Ask the Singaporeans who say they only discovered their child/parent/relative is sick when they got home from work.
True, alot of chao kengsters clog up the A/E on Sunday nights trying to get MC. But the doctors will still have to examine them all the same. Every kengster who claims to have chest pain will need an X-ray and a ECG...the better actor he is, the more investigations he gets. Tell them to go away? They will complain in the Forum Page![]()
Anyone knows why this nut oxford mushroom is so fond of calling people losers. It is more than once he called people losers. He is such an arrogant toad. Bu zhi tian gao di hou de si jia huo!!!! Crap. Why don't you talk about countries whereby the people don't need to pay when they are hospitalised? A relative of mine gave birth in a Malaysia hospital. She did not need to pay for the hospitalisation cost except of $20 admin costs.Originally posted by oxford mushroom:Root cause is that Singaporeans whine about healthcare costs but still want the best treatment. You want to pay $8 to see a GP? Then you must expect to wait. With such cheap consultation rates, everyone flocks to the polyclinics and government hospitals. Of course the doctors will take longer to see everyone. You will have to wait unless we hire more doctors. But you don't want to pay more...what do you expect? Why should doctors work for free?
I say bring in cheap doctors from India, Bangladesh and China for those who want to pay $8 to see the GP and those who want C class rates in public hospitals.

Grow up kiddo...An arrogant ignoramus like you will not get far. Read the facts:
"People in Britain underestimate the time they would have to wait for an NHS operation, a survey suggests
The poll of 1,000 people, by TNS on behalf of Norwich Union Healthcare, showed [b]most expect to wait five months for a hip operation.
Most wait nearer 11 months, independent medical researchers Dr Fosters said.
Patients also had unrealistic expectations for other operations and many said they did not know where to go to find out waiting times.
For knee surgery, the public were prepared to wait for three months and expected to wait for five months.
The actual wait for a knee replacement is a year, data from Dr Foster suggests...."

Don't blame him too much for it, he probably has a very traumatic childhood, that's why he developed such anti social behaviours. He must have been a very abused child, who knows, maybe he was sexually abused by ......., that's why he turned out the way he did (hating the world and humanity).Originally posted by rane:Arrogant? His status as a doctor has yet to be proved, it's what he professes to be, but I am not easily tricked by his Google search paraphrases. Seriously, with his kind of anti-social attitude towards others, I seriously doubt he is a doctor, maybe he is a psychiatric ward patient acting out his dream of being a doctor.Originally posted by rane:Oh that mushroom is a doctor no wonder he is such an arrogant toad.
