I don't remember China Premier ever threaten to install "freedom" in any country like Bush either. China gets her share of oil buy using $$$ not bullets and bombs.
Iraq is looking more and more like another Vietnam for US already, I don't think US has learned its lesson yet.
PLA is doing much better than US military by staying home and preserving peace. Isn't that what a military should be about? I don't see PLA opening up bases around the world and pretending to be world policemen. -

Yes Us did used Nuke on Japan....but they save ur fellow prc comrades by doing so. Did u know the USA did sent many messages to Japan ,demanding for a surrender of the imperial army, but the way of samurai codes forbade the jap army to surrender. To save more lives and shorten the war, the US nuke them. After the war, American did her best to help Japan in developing japan's economy and that explain Japan economy strength. How abt PRC? Claiming and conquer TIBET and did nothing significant to improve life of the tibetians but on the contrary torture them.
War On Iraq and Afgan is a JUST war. Just that u a blind communist can never understand the importance of freedom. Yes China is not dropping bomb now and that is worse,not doing anything to help the world.(xiu shou pang guan, zi shao men qian xue) The typical selfish chinese style.
Yes my ethnicity is Chinese, and I am proud to be a chinese. I dont hate China but I hate narrow minded PRC like urself and TS. TS is obviously asking for trouble the moment he set up this kind of thrend. It makes ppl here uncomfortable abt what is the ultimate motive of the chinese govt if her civilian were to come to other country's forum and start a loose talk on war.

Hu is head of PRC, and Ah Bian is head of ROC. Both elected to positions according to each country's regulations. The fact the Hu was not elected by the people in a democratic way, and ah bian used tricks and cheats to get elected did not nullify their positions as leaders of both china. Ah bian and WHATODO talked about war as if it would not affect them. One overestimated the ability of the US and its willingness to come to help during a straits war, the other overestimated the ability of PLA believing that PLA is now more powerful than the US. Such positions are dangerous to the region and both are equally stupid, not just similar.
I am no fan of US, but between USA and Japan in WW2, there is no question which side I am on. The way the Japs were willing to die for their emperor and Japan, as demonstrated in the way they defended useless islands like Iwo Jima, it would be months and hundreds of thousands of lives before Japan could agree to surrender. Even after the two bombs, many japs killed themselves instead of accepting the humiliation of surrendering, the samurai spirit? A devil is a devil, whether it is yellow face, white face, black face or red face. WW2 was not a racial war.
PRC was the devil to the people in this region during the 60s and the 70s. Sad to say, not many young Chinese from PRC are aware of this. Fortunately or unfortunately, the people hurt its people more than others. -

Germany launching world war or Japan invading China is a bad idea, yet they still do it.
There are a few signs shows that US is preparing a war or conflict with China:
-Ask asean country permission to allow US fleet to patrol in the malacca strait in the name of anti-pirates. But to fight pirates, why need an aircraft carrier? When war happen, can quickly cut off China oil supply, so their fighter jet cannot fly. Thats why china support thai in building kra canal and look for various source.
-They know china army is weaker and still ask them to be more transparent in their military. before a country launch a war, it must study the enemy first.
-They trying to control all oil producing countries like iraq, iran. and occupying countries that has border with china like japan, south korea, afghanistan. when war breakout, they can attack from all direction. -

Singaporeans are pretty hostile to them. But I have to say, althought 90% of the PRCs cmi, there is still 10% good ones. -

Before you stand on moral high ground and start revising History to satisfied your moral needs, You should know that this is one serious consideration from the US pacific command during WWII.
During the fight of taking pacific island from Guadacanal to Iowa Jima, The Allied command observe that the Japanese would willingly sacrific their life or commit sucide to defend the island and to conduct Honor killing within the family. (US marine has found from Japanese civilian that they were given grenade but does not know how to detonate to kill themselve so they end up smashing rocks on the skull.)
As much as Allied is now focusing on Japan, the causlity are mounting and they predicted massive casulty if they take Japan by using conventional method. Fighting with Japan was different from Germany it wasn't about a force that overwhelming their land and they give up their land. Its about fighting for the individual.
Using atomic bomb was Not taken lightly, perharps nobody truthly understood the power of the bomb. And it is not NOBODY CARES because its yellow.
Think about another possible senario in History, the Allied does not have the alternative and use conventional method, Napam Bombing day n night in all cities, i think the entire country that build on paper are going to burn, and kill even more.
Countries who has nuke weapon understood the responsibilities of its power, it is about how to regulate these power, and not threaten to use it again one another. -

The one element of PLA concern would be Taiwan, and the circle of influence on Taiwan. by ethnically infusion into the population would be the way to influence general public for support of its cause.

Singaporean would rely more of fellow Singaporean of other ethnic groups other than PRC chinese. You got the drift now!!! Just because we are all chinese majority doesn't mean that we are expectedd to be buddy buddy..... because we have different Historical References, grow up different environment, different school system.
To make it even simplier it is easy for us to go out and appreciate Indian food, malay food, and chinese food. For PRC individual u grow up with a single choice.
Public holidays are base on culture diversity, not nationalistics event. -
