Will the China-born 'talents' help to defend Singapore? Or will they just run back to China instead?
Many have become Singapore citizens and PR. -

the answer, is no, we should rely on our own strength to defend instead of depend on those PRC or PR to defend this country! -

Yes, what you said is true. The foreigners who became Singaporeans will realize that we are too small a place to defend or seek refuge so they would definitely run away back to where they came. The rich people would also run and ministers and their children may run too because some of them have bought overseas properties for themselves and their children as a contingent home in case any disasters strike.Originally posted by allentyb:this is just another bashing thread............

It will only be the original Singaporean citizens born and bred here who would stay and fight to defend against any external aggressions.
But then think again, the Singaporeans are being sacrificed by the government over the years to foreign in the name of globalization so many of them have become quite demoralized and they may change their loyalty over time too and refuse to stay on and fight. They may run up north to Malaysia or down south to Batam.
That is why citizens have been telling the ministers not to be too short-sighted in promoting everything foreign. Do so only carefully where their presence and their specific talents are needed by us to feed our growth. -

Sometimes I would think that if I fight for Singapore, I am just fighting to help LHL and his ministers keep their million dollar salaries -

Assimilation will take place 2nd or 3rd generation. During WWII only American born Japanese decent fought in WWII and not 1st generation immigrant.
Japanese american on the west coast were place on Japanese war relocation camp. It was not recognizes and compensation were given by the US government until 1988. [/url] -
In times of war , i will grab any foreigner that i hate most n use them as shields . Well since they had their fair share of sg money shouldn't them play a part also ? What i can say is most local pple will only protect their own family not the nation . What for protect a country that doesn't bother abt its own pple ?
