Agree. But do you think their opponents praising them in public is a sign of endorsement or respect? Is it like how people call Chiam and Low "PAP-approved opposition"? Or is it just that PAP respects them for finding it difficult to find candidates able to beat them?Originally posted by SevenEleven:put names like Goh Keng Swee, Ong Teng Cheong or even JBJ and these people deserve respects in their respective aspect.
it doen't really matters as the final success of being elected is still the people's mandate (provided there is an election and not a walkover). seriously, i think it do little whether the opponents praise of belittle each other in the publicOriginally posted by hawkeye1819:Agree. But some people don't see you as a real opposition or doing your job of an opposition if you don't oppose like that. Or if you think PAP is right, just keep quiet like SDP. Any one visited Sammyboy Coffeeshop, can see many forummers are like that.Originally posted by Trump_Card:Sometimes u cant oppose just for the sake of opposing...Give credit where due...
Quite hard to say. There could be truth that Chiam, Low, Steve Chia got to where they are or higher because PAP respects them and people still listen to PAP to a certain degree.Originally posted by SevenEleven:it doen't really matters as the final success of being elected is still the people's mandate (provided there is an election and not a walkover). seriously, i think it do little whether the opponents praise of belittle each other in the public
