After listening to the National Day Rally 2002, I got the feeling that i was given a lecture. But i think all humans are rational. They will always go for the better choice, due to self interests. I think there is nothing like "Pa si buay chao" theory in this world now. If Singapore can still be a nice and comfortable place to stay, who will want to leave? Only those idiots will want to leave.
If Singapore is really losing their competitive edge, being a small country, vulnerable to all the external threats, it will be very hard for Singapore to be a nice place to stay. So if the wise guys knows whats the best for them, they will make the best move. Which move they will make really depends on your own view. -
sir relax...in my view actually there is no one to say u whelter should u should go anot.....since u start a topic , so i speak my view.
To ask u a question.......can u find any place in this planet...firstly1) they will easily invite u in. 2) will there be respect.....or will they uphold racial harmony 3) will there be a place to feel at home....no matter wat u speak ,pple disagree or not,.....u all are speaking in the right tone ....on the same topic....4) can u find a place where u can work will joy .....5) can u find a place where u have a say in the community , the community disagree with u anot....u still kana respected..6) can u find another place where regatless of wat....u are treated equally.These are jus a few question as starters..........

Singapore not nice and comfortable meh.......ha....do u easily get rob when u go out at night.....do u have to wait so long for a flat when other races get it first.......do have a shelter.....do have a job(if dun have .....did u notice...the govt is looking for jobs for u)......does ur children go to sch.....wat u want ,to call Singapore a nice place....low tax....low bus fare......then......being frank , it is the same everywhere in the inch of this world....very sad to say...to be in which country.....you will have to suffer in some areas .
Let mi see....i compare a few country.....
Japan- a country high standard living.....but things there very stressful and expensive.....(cannot survive singapore dun go)
Australia- hot land for chinese....but sorry hor...now they dun invite us ...unless u got talent...even u are be invited..they reconise skin colour ( wat i heard from my friends there)
America- trust mi....u dun stand their culture....their street not safe....alot to say
Britain- good place to go....but will they invite u as a first class citizen ...with so many pple opting in Hong kong on question liao......u should look at their hooligans..
Switzerland- nice mountain.....but properties are expensive....dun speak chinese and if u are living in a german language region u are expected to communicate....most of the time officailly or non officially in german....even english is promoted.....ha....not that..useful...
france- u must know how to speak french there
new zealand- nice country....wat u want to work there......?
Out of so many countries.......do they want to invite u.......a big question.

Singapore may lost the edge because of mainly of manpower factor.......in another words BECAUSE IF U ALL (choosy in jobs blah blah).......if because of govt,,,,then i can tell u ....(.i did not see the fault in govt now) IT IS UR FAULT FOR CHOOSING THE WRONG GUY.......

Being frank....i am a 15 yr old....yap.....dun say...i am not in the society...i dun know....i Tell.....u ...u may suffer at work.......I SUFFER IN SCH.......for wat .....FOR WORK......i will say u nv go through in ur youth....wat we are doing......however abt taxes or not.......i am happy to give...if the govt provide mi will a safe and happy home......they did....so if next time...i will have to pay....i will pay.....ha....( when u are young in sch.....u are taking tax payers money leh)
Be realistic......when u have these atitude......u face trouble in a country,.....then no matter u like to migrate anot........u will keep on migrating one.....so wat u think

Quite true! nuthin is the best loh......even if there is one, u will stil keep changing ur mind coz got peer pressure.....or temptation mah...
Though SG is a peaceful and harmonious country.....but..... i can feel the pressure in 3-5 yrs time...
even frm nw we can c all the Mncs moving out to countries like malaysia, indonesia, thailand or even china......in no time ah we will be push out of the "international playground".
Actuali everybody noe SG is oreadi developed but govt keep saying we'r a developing country, but nw it seemed like we cant lie to ourselves anymore.... the real developing countries have emerged eg. "China, Thailand.....". It seems like its their turn to play the game......
I'm oso still a student nw, i tend to wori abit of my future too......
though u're rite other countries oso not very ideal to migrate to.....but if one of the countries is able to provide wat i'm looking for. i will go!

Decide for urslf wat is best for u, the best way is to try and keep trying loh........if got chance to go out to c the other angle of the world....juz go.....

Govt is saying that we are still developing...because....if we claim that we are developed....we have to give in to poorer countries...i believe alot of pple in singapore will protest abt that.... -
Actually, Singapore is known as a HID country, HID abbreviating "Highly Industrialized Developing" Country...its not considered a "developing" country anymore because we are rather self-sufficient.

well....ur response probably belongs to the majority...
really disappting(not a personal attack hor).....n definitely worth worrying abt....
imagine receiving the same response fr a quater of Sg population & one of these days, our grandparents.....parents n us will soon be part of Sg's history....history shall stop at 3G.
Put everything aside, let's ask ourselves this qn....
"Am i a Leader or a Follower? Sg's future tt impt to me?"
so r u gonna answer?

This seems a clever move....but perhaps a coward act. Instead of standing up for our needy country....we r opting to leave with a clear conscious tt this is the same move everyone shall take. Not wrong but think again....juz a plain follower.
S'poreans esp 3G r definitely lacking in entreprenuership spirit to CREATE & LEAD. If Sg is tt lousy, own up tt we din do our best & make an effort to make Sg a better place for the next generation. It's better than to be 'tao bing' n shamelessly telling our decendents tt Sg is a lousy place....admitting our incompetence?
