Hi, Ms or Mr Poh, don't worry LKY said before that he has prepared his people well to continue without him. No worry. As for LHL, hope we have someone more capable and has the sincere heart for the people to take over him.Originally posted by Poh Ah Pak:Lee Kuan Yew has gathered so much power into his hands since he came to rule in 1959, if he dies suddenly, there might be a power struggle within the PAP.
His son and successor, Lee Hsien Loong's position might not be as secure as is protrayed in the mainstream propaganda media.
Well , his son said confidently all singaporeans will live longer and retirement 67 no problem one. So, maybe he confident to live long long. Looks like singapore will continue to 'enjoy' the LEE style of governing.Originally posted by Poh Ah Pak:Lee Kuan Yew has gathered so much power into his hands since he came to rule in 1959, if he dies suddenly, there might be a power struggle within the PAP.

Many are asking the same question. the lee are not the only ones who can be the PM of this country, this country belongs to all singaporeans and any capable and qualified ones should have the equal chance of becoming the PM. PMs from the lee family is not always proven to be capable, look at lee hsien loon. Without the dad, he will not be the PM.Originally posted by reddressman:I wonder if another LEE will be the next PM of singapore? His son can mature in time to take over his papa or not?
Seems like no LEE cannot leh. Every future pm must be LEE one.
LEE LEE LEE. How can singapore be capable of surviving without LEE?
I think only this family got the IQ to run singapore. All other family have yet to prove they can. oh, maybe except our bombastic 'more good years' Goh.
LEE kong dio boh?
ha ha ha!
Ya, like real, tell him don't play the role of God lest he incurs the wrath of God. Wow, i din know science got way to know how long a man can live wan leh.

What you said makes sense but which super IQ in his team has the ambition to take over and create another legacy of his non-LEE family name for next few generations or the next 50-100 years?Originally posted by qlqq9:Many are asking the same question. the lee are not the only ones who can be the PM of this country, this country belongs to all singaporeans and any capable and qualified ones should have the equal chance of becoming the PM. I can understand you. but being singaporean for so many decades have strongly diluted my believe in wrath of any gawd and karma of any thing.Originally posted by qlqq9:Ya, like real, tell him don't play the role of God lest he incurs the wrath of God. No, in general singaporeans don' t want any more members of the same people lead the country, we have enough.Originally posted by reddressman:What you said makes sense but which super IQ in his team has the ambition to take over and create another legacy of his non-LEE family name for next few generations or the next 50-100 years?
If no, then my assumption that singapore needs LEE family to reign forever is still valid. And I suspect the majority in singapore like them as much as the brits like their queen.
I have to disagree with you here. This isn't about playing God. It's about statistical patterns. The life expectancy of males in Singapore is 79 and females is 84 years (as of 2005).Originally posted by qlqq9:Ya, like real, tell him don't play the role of God lest he incurs the wrath of God. Say whatever you want, it does not bother people who agree. What you stated above is based on 2005, figures will change. Human life is fragile and any time, any where people are dying.Originally posted by maven2:I have to disagree with you here. This isn't about playing God. It's about statistical patterns. Quite interesting the way they calculate it:

Yes. Values will change. And people can die anytime. But that doesn't stop a person from quoting it (as a statistical average) at this moment. And he won't be wrong.Originally posted by qlqq9:Say whatever you want, it does not bother people who agree. What you stated above is based on 2005, figures will change. Well, I am not the only ones who have seen many in theri 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s died and many died of sicknesses. There are more people who died before they even reach 80.Originally posted by maven2:Yes. As much as I'm severly dissatisfied with the current leadership [as you are able to see in several other threads], this point doesn't hold any water.
We'd do well instead to observe that MM Lee is past the statistical average :p
Civil Service sectors should not "voluntarily retire" their servants at 62 or 65. Look at MM. Sometimes I ponder on the double standards.
My dad is healthy and strong, accomplished in his department and has been serving for more than 20 years. But he has retired (at 62) and now works as a "part-time" in the same department, drawing a salary that's about a quarter of his previous pay. And doing just as much work.
But seriously, so far who else wants to and can take over?Originally posted by qlqq9:No, in general singaporeans don' t want any more members of the same people lead the country, we have enough.
Even in the current Secondary School Social Studies syllabus on chapter 'The Rise and Fall of Venice" , already warned us the effects of Nepotism.Originally posted by qlqq9:No, in general singaporeans don' t want any more members of the same people lead the country, we have enough.
