My only hope now is for Lee Kuan Yew to accept God's invitation to go to his house.

But he cannot refuse forever.
Sooner or later, Lee Kuan Yew will have to reply to God's invitation.

What SDP needs now to do is to reach out to the Western media headquartered in Singapore. If they can get through to them, they would have an effective platform to voice their own policies and ideas. Singapore needs them (CNN, BBC etc.) more than they need Singapore.
Who watches CNA and reads Straits Times when they can get their news from Internet? More importantly SDP needs to involve youth at a much greater scale than it is now. esp the 18-20 year olds 2008. If they can mobilize the youth vote it would be an extremely effective weapon.

You know LKY is just a man with a limited life span. Instead of hoping when he dies IMO people who want change should act. But IMO people who want change in Singapore are not that many to effect any change, i.e, most Singaporean actually support LKY family reign of the island.
In Indonesia we didn't wait until Soeharto dies. We acted. Soeharto stepped down but the reform has been hijacked. It was never unsuccessful but it was even never fully started and finished......sad.

doing anything when LKY is still around is political suicide. the smart will pick his battles. current opposition either lack the political will to compete with PAP or just plain dumb. Neither do they have the resources.
Suharto is felled in part by the Asian financial crisis that enveloped much of Asia in the late 90s. When it was badly managed and when the prices of commodity items much needed by everydayman Indonesians spiral out of control, his days were numbered. Expansive corruption that was happening when financial aid were disbursed added to his woes. His final fall was attributed to dissension within his Golkar party. I personally don't think he would resign despite the riots and unrests that were taking place when he seeked reelection. He could have crushed it with the military. Rather, it is the lack of support within his inner circle in the party that signaled to him that he needs to leave, or face a humiliating ouster.

I thought that if we make Lee Kuan Yew King, and his position is thus firmly secured, he may relax political controls and free up the media etc.
The mainstream media cannot criticise him once he is King.

But when did our lky/PAP controlled media ever criticise lky? lky will never give up on power. Without power, I believe he will fall sick very soon, sick as in suddenly has serious sickness. Power is his strength to get on with life.

If Lee Kuan Yew is King, he can make a law like Thailand that says media cannot criticise King, can only praise King.
The media industry here can be freed up and we can have real proper media, not propaganda media.
Everyone happy, media praises Lee Kuan Yew, we get proper media.
