Both husband and wife are in their 80s, so does it mean they are assuming majority people will also live past 80 years old and so come out with the annuity.

they also show you there are people living over 100 years old too. if you remember PM Lee rally speech talking about people living older, he said got 500+ people living over 100 years old in singapore. i think he is using that figure to represent the 4 million plus of us here.

If they think majority will live pass 80, they will prob set annuity draw down age as 100.
They know most Singaporeans cant possibly live pass 80, and if they do, the government has already got insurance to protect themselves from needing to help them. So what ever happens, the government wins. Ie. you buy ur own clutch when u are young, dun expect us to provide u with one when u are old.
