Gurkha guards spotted at currency hse?

My fren works at a hotel. whenever LHL goes there for a function, there will be a lot of police stationed and not even hotel staff can get to him easily. when prata man goes there, security was much more slack........so much for being head of state....

Yes I know of the Gurkha camp. Has anyone ever visited the Gurkhas secret and walled up housing complex?
If you do, you will be amazed by the top security surrounding it.
I know Gurkhas are disallowed to mix with Singaporeans. Can see them hold huge weekend BBQs and functions at ECP. There are tents and lots of food. Very well organised.
So, you see the old despot and his croonies dont even trust our local police for protection.
He surrounds himself with a few thousand Gurhkas - just in case there is a revolution of some sort. Does this not mean he is prepared to use Gurkhas to kill ? -

Its not about bother.
Its more about being aware of how our trust and support means nothing to them.
Furthermore, Singapaoreans are paying for these extra, unneccessary, big Gurkha protection bill. Think of that !

Gurkhas are also human. The way some people here speak of them is almost an insult to the people who do so much for our security.
I have been into the gurkha camp numerous of times.
Of course security is tight. After 911, its the same everywhere.
If gurkhas are not allowed to mix with citizens, who are the men jogging around my neighbourhood everyday?
Who are the guys i talk to when i was back in secondary school?
Who are the guys i have on me msn?

Of course Gurkhas are humans too.
Nobody is saying anything against them in here.
And ..... thousands of Gurkhas have been here for more than 40 years, way before 9/11.
The point is - all this cost of maintaining a huge personal protection team comes at a heavy cost. We the people have to bear this cost.
Money which should be spent on improving the lives of our people instead of on a few scared politicians hiding in a palatial residence.
So our high cost of living. -
