Ok I spread ur word ... I still think its not wise for for them to do so ... Sooner or later it will come to the attention of the ISD ...Originally posted by Jontst78:My Agenda? I guess its spreading the word, if you can call it an agenda.
Get those Singaporeans who are victims of "Emperor's New Clothes" syndrome ou tof it. After 4 decades of selected publishing and broadcasting buy Govt controlled media.

We are lucky that there are people like that... willing to speak up at great cost to themselves.Originally posted by Jontst78:Activists called in for questioning.

Young people out there, the property price rise is to your great disadvantage, unless your parents have a few properties and one child, you.
Property Prices Rise at our expense
and your point is? people with many properties must behave in a dishonorable manner and people must take more millions of public money for a life of more luxury? TT Durai was some sort of a saint for taking only S$600K of money meant for kidney patients since other people take as a family approx S$10million a year?Originally posted by FireAndHell:And my take is that you dun have any property to sell to profit from, am I correct to say this? I guess, unless you youself have property to sell during this boom property period, you would'nt be trying to prick other ppl to voice their dissent on the rising property prices, am I right??
I think what he wants is for the international community to sanction Singapore like what they did for the activists against the apartheid regime of South Africa... he probably thinks of himself as Nelson Mandela ... you might not think so, but that is his opinion of himself... and furthermore FEER calls him a martyr ....Originally posted by the Bear:what was CSJ trying to say?
if he has a lot of nothing to say and is saying it loudly, or worse, saying a lot of crap which will serve only the powers, we should not be supporting him no matter what the powers do to him...
for remember.. your enemy's enemy may not be your friend

Politics is about making your point, and we should never have someone setting the rules just because they fear the competition.
You want a strong Singapore? The only way is to embrace diversity of views and accept that there is no SINGLE political ideology that has the answers.

If our government is truly righteous and has nothing to hide, have done NO wrongs, they shouldn't be AFRAID to let people express themselves. In the first place, if they have done no wrongs, there wouldn't be ANY such protests or Freedom March...
No fire... no smoke...
Like I said, that is your opinion of him...Originally posted by the Bear:CSJ's an ass..
publicity stunts.. because that's what they are.. stunts..
instead of doing the right thing, getting some credibility, doing work for the people, working his way into a position where he can do something, he goes for cheap publicity stunts...
this demeans the rest of the opposition which works quietly and conscientiously to improve the lot of the people...
and worse, it tars the rest of the opposition as people look at this clown and think that the rest of the opposition is as pathetic and embarrassing as he is..
and worst of all, people think he's the leader of the opposition here!
your enemy's enemy may be worse than your enemy..
I think you are rather too quick to judge him or you are misunderstanding the point of me starting this thread. Many may not agree with what happened between him and Chiam. But the point here, is not to garner support for the SDP per say, but to create awareness. Much like Ghandi and Mendela did. Its called Civil Disobedience, non-violent action.Originally posted by the Bear:CSJ's an ass..

A university prof... what did he ever do to deserve this? Bankruptcy, jail... reputation sullied....Originally posted by justiceforall:It's really sad to see such things happening to Singaporeans who care so much about freedom of speech and human rights in our country.

whether what he did was right or wrong... how can Singaporeans tolerate the kind of treatment he got?
Only dishonorable people that have no qualms raising their million dollars salaries for even more luxuries using public money can do these kind of atrocities to people simply for disagreeing with them....
It is like you are driving and a motorcyclist cut in front of you, causing you to jam your brakes... you curse and swear at him and you feel very angry with him... but do you purposely refuse to jam your brakes and smash your car at him and tell yourself he deserves it.Originally posted by ShutterBug:VERY WELL SAID!
CSJ's approach may be a tad bit unrefined, but hell, those so called "rules" he broke are so UNJUST!
What violence? Saw any violence so far? The only violence I saw were from the Police harrassing every single one who partook in any activities with CSJ...
It's called BULLYING.

There are just laws and unjust laws, and the only way in singapore, to bring attention to unjust laws is to break them, non-violently. You see it as a publicity stunt, because in a way, it is a publicity stunt, designed to created awareness, both locally and internationally. This actually is not an uncommmon occurance in other developed countires.
He implied during his interview that he isn't really interested in winning elections, in other words, running for office is not one of his higher priorities, but rather, bring international pressure on the Singapore Government to reform and change, thru non-violent action.
Like Ghandi deliberately manufacturing salt at the coastline, when the British outlawed salt making by public. Maybe Chee really wants to be mytr, but then again it only possible if the PAP makes him one, or maybe they already have....
