I'm sorry Andrew, but I think I do not understand your entire posting...?Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:It is like you are driving and a motorcyclist cut in front of you, causing you to jam your brakes... you curse and swear at him and you feel very angry with him... but do you purposely refuse to jam your brakes and smash your car at him and tell yourself he deserves it.
hey, motorcyclists cut in front of you, it is ok to be angry and curse him but if you smash your car at him for cutting in front of you.... you are a fu....king inhuman dishonorable public money grabbing idiot!
Well, lemme explain:Originally posted by Mid9Sun:I have mixed feelings abt CSJ, but I have to give him credit for trying to bring public awareness to the questionable policies of PAP.
When I see people ridicule him etc etc, I'd ask, what does he stand to gain in all these, esp after losing so much.
You cant help but at least give him some respect.
I have heard talk of him being a MIW Mole, its of no consequence as its has not been proven, or even remotely close. The only thing is that some people felt that he screwed up the repuation of Opposition members, which hardly means he's a mole, probably means that he's not a very skilled politician. I didn't agree with ousting Chiam, but also didn't agree with Chiam asking Chee to "self censor". Then again thats between the 2 of them.Originally posted by the Bear:no.. i am not quick to judge.. i've seen him for ages...
thought he was a way out.. until you see his antics...
his disgraceful eviction of the man who brought him into politics...
as for publicity stunts.. they are nothing but stunts.. just like Paris Hilton.. she does a lot of things, gets a lot of attention but she's just a waste of time and oxygen...
awareness? i'm sorry.. all he has done is to desensitise everyone and turn everything into a 'bleh'... he rants, rages, for no reason, for nothing, only causes people to become less sympathetic to an extent where if a real good man does, no one will care anymore.. because this piece of crap has used up the public store of sympathy.. and there is a limit.. he's just squandering it because of his huge ego..
back to CSJ.. so what if he does all this? people look, then look at him, realise that he has the credibility of a crooked used car salesman and pour scorn on him.. and when he keeps doing so, all who try to do so with dignity and true love for the people will also be tarred by the same brush.. in other words, he has basically destroyed Singapore's Opposition...
do you not even know that there is talk that he is the MIW's mole in the opposition? everytime there is a chance, he will come in and screw things up.. Gomez was another... between that two, the MIW could not have damaged the opposition as much as they did..
he keeps ranting that he 'doesn't have interest' because, like the fox which proclaimed the grapes are sour, he knows that the Singapore People will never be hoodwinked by this charlatan ever again.. only people on the outside who have no idea of his disgraceful behaviour will believe him.. but then, isn't he like the MIW who is more interested in FTs than the locals?
everything about this piece of crap is dubious..
again, i say.. your enemy's enemy may not be your friend..
btw... Gandhi is an icon... he did his in a time where things demanded to be done and he did it the correct way.. please do not demean the Mahatma by comparing CSJ with him

Remember the time when Goerge Soros came to yalk about his idea of open societies, and they insisted that Singapore was an open society?
Then, when CSJ invited the EU parliamentarians to speak, the "open society" became a closed open society?
CSJ is good, he managed to show us what kind of idiotic people rule over us...

i vote for VendetteOriginally posted by Fingolfin_Noldor:As I mentioned before, this country needs to do some burning and burn bright as a warning to all other autocratic rulers.
Plus, there must be plenty of wreckage. Only then will people understand what they landed themselves in. If people must die to make a bloody point, then die they must.
Sadly true, and I believe this is why they tuned our economy such that most of us are too busy and concerned over making just enough to put food on the table to bother about democracy.Originally posted by Rock^Star:I admire the courage of these people who stood up for democracy. However, I question its effectiveness. Has this movement garnered more support for Chee?
I believe the first and foremost concern on the average Singaporean's mind is still bread and butter. Knowledge of democracy for the man in the street has still a long way to go.
Being the pragmatic Singaporeans that most of us are, food on the table comes before democracy. My view.
I overheard this in hokkien at a coffeshop before:Originally posted by ShutterBug:Sadly true, and I believe this is why they tuned our economy such that most of us are too busy and concerned over making just enough to put food on the table to bother about democracy.
Step on your feet to injure it so you cannot run and chase after them...

India and Thailand are not exactly shining models of freedom and democracy.Originally posted by lionnoisy:2.do u mean that if we dunt chase for freedom and democracy, then

The challenge is to show that democracy and alternatives in government will lead to policies that can better their lot in life. This is the angle that parties must take.Originally posted by Rock^Star:I overheard this in hokkien at a coffeshop before:
"Fight all this (democracy) for what? I already work until my face turn green, where got time to bother about freedom of speech?"
Sad but true. Wonder how many more feel this way.
Yes, when it comes to Singaporeans' salaries... they compared with 3rd world countries forgetting that our cost of living by their policies is worst than many 1st world countries.Originally posted by LazerLordz:India and Thailand are not exactly shining models of freedom and democracy.
Think Scandinavia, Australia, S.Korea and Spain etc..![]()
