Would they vote against their employer and break their rice bowls? And it does not help that in elections, our voting slips have serial numbers.
I also have a friend in his 20s who voted for the PAP because he fears that his HDB application may be rejected should he vote for the opposition. Mind you, he's educated. -

I am alll right with LHL's GST policy but not the 2 million pay salary issue.
The positon MM is like a honourary position.
Weird it is to have to see "3 prime ministers" in the parliament. But as long as the persons sitting at this three positions of PM, SM, MM are not corrupt people (think MM's pay should be so much loh, a bit politically off you know), I think the elders of the Singapore politics can safeguard the future of Singapore politics (except the position of MM, hope it only last for LKY ONLY) -

PAP has 82 of 84 seats. So there is no way to check PAP's power within a legal system that is manupliated by the PAP, who are even involved in the appointment of the judges. If the PM sues you, the presiding judge could very well be indirectly appointed by him.
Hence, we should raise awareness, of this to all members of the public. -

That is what Rock STar told me to (write to STs) when I post with the good motive of telling people to check if they are underpaid for th GST offset package. Rock STar has been unhappy about whining and ask to write to STs. Don't know how "smart" is he to come out with suggestion like that. Do you read ST forums? Have you noticed the style of letters that SPH publishes?
Politically sensitive issues like this, one can forget it. Letters about citizens being short changed on GST payout....why not? Check out the letter today on bureaucracy in our transport system.
Anyway, I highly doubt that that PAP would want to cheat Singaporeans in this petty manner. If they had wanted to BS us, they would have done it through a more high handed manner. Since when has this govt become stupid? Announcing GST payout and then serving it less than stated to Singaporeans. It would cause a massive, massive outroar. I believe that there has been some miscommunication along the process.
